There's a optimal way to reclass your party members and get the best stat growth for them. Potentially doing it differently might result to lower stats or locked skills so follow our tips to learn how to reclass efficiently!
Your character should be level 20 before you can change its class. Be sure to have a capable party because, while there are some classes that are easy to level up in the beginning (e.g., Warrior, Mage), there are some that can be difficult to manage (e.g., Merchant, Gadabout).
Leveling Guide: How to Level Up Fast
The Hero class is the only vocation in the game where you can't change classes with or turn it into another class. It's a unique class and can be the most versatile job you can ever build around!
Hero Job Class and Best Personality
The spells you learned from your previous class and half of the stat growth you accumulated are carried over when you change classes. Be sure to plan out your job changes to build a powerful character!
List of All Spells and Abilities
The Personalities you have will stay the same regardless of the class change. Ensure that the personality your character has will still work for the class you change into!
When you decide to change classes, remember that the level of the character you choose will always reset to level 1.

Listed above are our recommended reclasses for each Vocation. In general, reclassing your party into Sages will be to your benefit since the Sage has access to both support and offensive magic skills which will help greatly later on into the game.
The ideal class change would be going from either Mages or Priests into a Sage.
For a more offense-focused character, start out with a Mage. For a more support-focused class, start out with a Priest.
The Martial Artist has the most offensive power in any class because of its high critical hit rate. We recommended changing into this class whenever you can!
Martial Artist Job Class and Best Personality
To change a character's class, you need to reach level 20 with it and then going to the Alltrades Abbey to do the change. The only class that cannot do this is the Hero class.
The Sage vocation is not available at the start of the game. There are 2 ways to turn into this class.
One way to turn into a Sage is to use the Words of Wisdom item after reaching level 20. The other way is to come from the Gadabout class. This is the only class that can transform into a Sage without the use of any items.
