How to Beat Soul of Baramos (Citadel)

Conserve Your MP

Soul of Baramos (Citadel) is the second of three bosses that you need to beat before fighting the final boss. Avoid using high MP spells like Omniheal so that you can still cast spells in the next fights.

Use Fizzle to Prevent Kaboom

Soul of Baramos (Citadel)' most dangerous attack is Kaboom, so you'll want to cast Fizzle to stop it from being cast.

Can Cast Bounce Instead

Fizzle isn't the most effective spell since you're only worried about a single spell. Alternatively, you can cast Bounce instead to reflect Kaboom to the Soul of Baramos (Citadel).

An interesting quirk with the AI is that it will not cast Kaboom if you have Bounce active, so this is a great way to stop the spell from being cast at the cost of more MP.

Cast Insulatle to Lower Breath Damage

After countering Bounce, the next attack you'll need to worry about is Inferno. Make sure that you cast Insulatle so that you'll reduce the damage it deals, making it easier to stay alive.

Vocations That Learn Insulatle

Sage Sage

Use Sage's Stone to Recover HP

Once its threatening attacks have been dealt with, it will be much easier to out-heal the damage it deals with a Sage's Stone. Make sure to use the Sage's Stone every turn, but if you need extra healing, you can also use Multiheal.

Reduce Its Defense With Sap

Soul of Baramos (Citadel) has a very high defense, so you'll want to use Sap to reduce its defense. You can combine it with Oomph for maximum damage, but it only has 1,100 HP and it'd be better to just attack without that buff.
