Cursed Equipment are known to have great stat values that can help your party become formidable, at the cost of incurring their glaring side effects that will otherwise render your characters useless in battle.
It is recommended that cursed equipment not be equipped in their base form.

You can have the curse from cursed equipment removed by visiting churches and paying 1000G. It is recommended that you do not use this method as it is overtly expensive.
Sheen is a spell which can both be learned by Mages and Sages in the game. It's a handy spell that can remove curses from your equipment without needing to visit churches.
