Vamp is the best personality in the game due to it having an increase in every single stat. In the remake, the Hero can get the Vamp personality in the initial quiz regardless of their gender, but do note that male party members still have this limitation and will not be able to get Vamp.

Best Personality for Male Party Members

As for Male party members, the only personalities without stat decreases are Lucky Devil, Bat Out of Hell, and Everyman, but they're all relatively bad except for Bat Out of Hell.

It'd be better to choose a personality based on their vocation instead since Everyman gives 0 increase or decrease, while Lucky Devil's biggest increase is Luck.

Apart from personalities, each vocation have an innate stat growth rate for all of their stats. Therefore, it is best to use personalities with stat growth rates that match the vocation's own stat growth rate to maximize both.

Considering that the HD-2D version has changes from previous versions, a character's best personality can change.

The most notable change is that there's a new Resilience stat, making Agility slightly worse since it's no longer used to calculate a character's defense.
