The Merchant is not a suitable class for the later stages of the game, so it is recommended changing to Gadabout after learning YellHelp, then to Sage at Level 20.
Class Change Guide: How to Change Classes
The Merchant class has a special ability that gives you the chance to gain 10% more gold from the battle. If you want to earn gold fast, you need to have this class in your party!
