Echidna Best IVs

Recommended IVs

Stat Superboon/Superbane IV Recommendation
HP (19) Normal HP ★☆☆☆☆
Atk (22) No Attack IV ★★★★☆
Spd (10) No Spd IV ★★★★★
Def (6) No Def IV ★★★☆☆
Res (8) Res Boon ★★☆☆☆

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws

See the IV Checker for All Units Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-HP

Echidna's best IVs are +Spd and -HP. With a boon in Spd, Echidna will have a Spd stat of 39, allowing her to gain follow-up attacks on foes with Spd up to 35. As HP is of much lower importance, it can be safely taken as her bane.

+Spd with a +10 Merge

+Spd is also the recommended IV with a +10 merge. +Spd and a +10 merge gives Echidna a Spd stat of 43, which allows her to prevent follow-up attacks from the fastest metagame units.

Echidna Best Weapon Refine

Effect of Echidna's Refined Weapon

Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type)
SP: 400
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: 3
If unit is within 3 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 to unit, reduces damage from foe's first attack by 30%, and unit's next attack deals damage equal to total damage reduced during combat (by any source, including other skills; resets at end of combat), and after combat, restores 7 HP to unit.
If foe initiates combat or foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd/Def/Res = current penalty on each of those stats × 2, + 4 (example: if unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk+18, for a net bonus of Atk+11 during combat; calculates each stat bonus independently) and grants Special cooldown charge +1 to unit per attack during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack).
Arena Medal:500 Divine Dew:200

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Western Axe

Refined Western Axe grants bonus stats, damage reduction on foe's first attack, post-combat healing, Special cooldown charges per attack, and a Unity effect, reversing visible stat penalties afflicted onto Echidna and applying double the penalty amounts in the form of in-combat bonuses.

These effects are quite massive when combined into one weapon, turning Echidna from an older irrelevant unit into one who can stand up to modern metagame units when given proper investment.

Echidna is a close-range physical attacker. When the effects of the Weapon Triangle are not taken into account, the damage she deals will be equal to hihers Atk minus the foes's Def.

Echidna Strengths

Refined Western Axe grants multiple powerful effects

Refined Western Axe grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4, 30% damage reduction on foe's first attack, 7 HP post-combat healing, Special cooldown charges per attack, and a Unity effect, reversing visible stat penalties afflicted onto Echidna and applying double the penalty amounts in the form of in-combat bonuses.

The Unity effect stacks with other Unity effects such as from skills like Atk/Spd Unity and from outside effects like Legendary Robin (M)'s 【Grand Strategy】 status effect.

When set up properly, Echidna can stack up massive stat bonuses in-combat and make her unstoppable.

Can buff allies' Atk

Echidna's C Skill Drive Atk 2 will give a +3 Atk buff to her allies within 2 spaces. This lets her support allies just by being nearby, and equipping her with the Sacred Seal Drive Atk 2 or Spur Atk 3 can further increase the effects of this bonus.

Echidna Weaknesses

Weak to magic attacks

With her low Res stat, Echidna will take a ton of damage from Tome wielders and dragons. Keep her away from enemies that deal magic damage to ensure her survival.

But use the same scale. Not letters for one, numbers for the other, & including "rerolling" , which would only matter for brand new players. No one else is going to delete their accounts & lose everything they've saved up just to start over & get a few new heros. Lots of veterans use the site to gauge how good new heroes are, esp ones that don't have the weapon unlocked, so we have to waste feathers just to test the weapon effects. The ratings are confusing & could use reworking, IMO

I hate the way y'all talk about the weapon refines, because u word it like the refine adds additional damage reduction, etc. You should only list what EXTRA effects the refine offers over the normal weapon instead of making the refine sound like it offers more than what it does. Also, another 9.0 with a B rank? These scores are so nonsensical, IMO. There are 9.0 with S rank, A rank & B rank. Why not just have 2 different scores, 1 for using the character, another for skill inheritance...
