There are three main damage types in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, but each of them branches into another subset of damage types. See all damage types and learn how to recognize them, as well as how to increase their damage output.

Slash damage occurs when the weapon deals a slashing animation towards an enemy (except Axes). You'll know your attacks deal Slash Damage when a white line appears during your attack animation.
To increase your Slash Damage, you simply need to increase your Weapon Mastery and stack the highest stat-scaling attribute for the weapon.

Blunt Damage mostly appears from Axes. A hint that you're doing blunt damage is when you see small shockwaves after every hit.
You increase your Blunt damage by increasing Weapon Mastery and taking the highest stat-scaling attribute for the weapon of your choice.

Stab damage mainly come from Spears but can also be inflicted by One-handed Swords and Dual Blades. Stab attacks create a quick white glint when inflicted upon enemies.
Like most physical damage types, you can increase your Stab damage by increasing Weapon Mastery and stacking attributes that align with the weapon's scaling.

Magic damage affects spells that have a natural attunement. Spells that are attuned with magic are those that deal water, magic, fire, lightning, ice, and wind damage.
You can increase your Magic damage by taking Magic Nodes in the Impetus Repository or equipping a One-handed Sword with magic scaling.

Feathering damage affects spells that deal feathering, corruption, and blight. Much like Magic, you can increase Feathering damage by taking Feathering Nodes in the Impetus Repository.
