1. Talk to He Youzai Outside Reverent Temple
Talk to He Youzai, found by the path outside Reverent Temple. Talk to him and he'll give you a Bamboo Lantern and a Cornucopia Elixir, after saying that he'll get advice from the boatman about the cure to Feathering.
2. Give the Lost Package to He Youzai Before Doomwillow Beach
Once you obtain the Lost Package on the ground along the path from Buddha Cliffs to Lightzen Temple, give it to He Youzai just before arriving at Doomwillow Beach. He'll give you the Records of the Southern Archipelago and the Pirate armor set as thanks.
3. Talk to He Youzai After the Honglan Fight
Once you return to Reverent Temple after defeating Honglan, go to the first floor and talk to He Youzai. Exhaust his dialogue options to get clues that lead toward Cloudspire. He'll give you a piece of Everblend Brew and a Cured Jerky after the conversation.

4. Talk to He Youzai in Snowpeak Pass
Find He Youzai in one of the buildlings to the right after entering Snowpeak Pass past the bridge. He'll tell you that you must go to Snowfall Palace and he'll give you a Cornucopia Elixir after exhausting the dialogue options.
5. Talk to He Youzai in The Shaft
Once you find He Youzai in The Shaft, show him the Research Notes Scrap 1 you get from defeating Huang Yan, the Mistress of the Night, and the Mad Doctor's Research Notes, which is located in the second level of the Shaft.
6. Speak with He Youzai in the Refugee Camp
Speak with He Youzai in the Refugee Camp in Mt. Zhenwu. He can be found next to Fang Yao.
7. Speak with He Youzai in Bai Mansion
Speak with He Youzai in Bai Mansion before the Monstrous Toddler Bai Kru fight, so you can summon him during the fight.
8. Show Him the Research Journal 2
After defeating Monstrous Toddler Bai Kru, show him the Research Journal - Scrap 2 you obtained as a drop from the recent boss to progress the questline.

9. Speak with He Youzai in the Annalum
Speaking to the Storyteller after the Fierce Tiger and choosing to "Continue Forward" will teleport you to Worship's Rise in Ruins, where He Youzai can be seen just outside from where you spawned. Speak to him there to progress his dialogue.
10. Talk to Fang Yao in Reverent Temple
Proceed to the Reverent Temple and follow the path leading to where the Young Boy was located before to find Fang Yao. Speak with her there and she'll give you the Research Journal - Scrap 3 and the Ring of Samsara - Cause.
10. Show He Youzai the Research Journal 3
After talking to Fang Yao in Reverent Temple, speak with He Youzai on the third floor of the Reverent Temple and show him the item to obtain the Ring of Samsara - Effect.
11. Speak with He Youzai in Bo Capital
Speak with He Youzai in the Forbidden Lands to get the Pinwheel and an emote.

He Youzai is seen standing by the road outside Reverent Temple. From the Reverent Temple shrine, go down the stairs and exit the area through the gate on the right past the enemies by the campfire.

Before Doomwillow Beach
He Youzai is found just before entering Doomwillow Beach. After defeating the Great Centipede, climb the Tower of Sacrifice and make way toward Doomwillow Beach. Follow the path until you find He Youzai.

Settlement in Snowpeak Pass
From the Snowpeak Pass shrine, enter the settlement past the wooden bridge. He Youzai is found in the building to your right after passing the entrance.

He Youzai is found at the bottom of the Shaft until you get to the Bride's Boudoir shrine.

He Youzai can be found just before reaching the Refugee Camp next to Fang Yao.
