Don't Worry About Defeating Bai Kru
Bai Kru is a tutorial boss, so you don't need to worry about defeating it early on. The reward of five Red Mercury Essence for beating Bai Kru can easily be farmed as you progress through the story.
How to Beat Bai Kru
Watch Out for Bai Kru's Double Lunges
Bai Kru leaps and ground pounds your location twice. The first one may appear to be the end of the attack animation, which can cause some players to mistakenly identify it as such and attempt to hit Bai Kru, only to get caught by the follow up attack.

| Double Lunge |
Bai Kru jumps and slams the ground upon landing. It performs this attack twice in a row, so be ready to dodge a second time. |
| Heavy Ground Slam |
Bai Kru jumps high up in the air and drops down, slaming the ground upon landing. Dodge to any directions before Bai Kru lands. |
| Backflip |
Bai Kru glances behind and does a backflip, damaging you if you're nearby. Dodge toward the direction its back is facing to close the distance. |
| Swift Strikes |
Bai Kru strikes its claws, up to four times, but it can cut the move midway and transition into a different move. Dodge forward to stay behind it and avoid getting hit. |
| Consecutive Ground Pounds |
Bai Kru performs a ground pound multiples times in quick succesion. Remain behind Bai Kru to avoid the damage and try to get some damage in. |
| Upward Torrent |
Bai Kru shoots out water upward. Dodge to the sides to avoid the attack. |
| Sideward Torrent |
Bai Kru shoots out a stream of water from its left to the right, then back to its left. Dodge opposite direction of the water's path to avoid getting hit, or if you're close enough, sprint behind Bai Kru to evade the attack and deal damage. |
| Rising Ground Slam |
Bai Kru places both hands on the ground and strikes upward, followed by a ground slam. Dodge to the side to avoid the initial attack, then dodge again just before the slam. |

Talk to the Boatman Outside Reverent Temple
The boatman is located near the campfire to the right of Reverent Temple, after you exit and go down the stairs. You can only attempt to speak to him once, giving you a single chance to defeat Bai Kru.
