How to Beat Vermilion Feathers Honglan
Equip Slash, Stab, and Feathering Resistance
Honglan uses her blades for most attacks, except for her quick punches. Equip armor with high Slash, Stab, and Feathering mitigation to help you tank more hits more during the fight. You can mix and match armor pieces from the Avian Hunter set and the Ming armor set to better fortify yourself.
Watch Out for Her Deflect Stance
Honglan places her wing in front of her and it starts to glow red. Attacking her while in this state will deal no damage and trigger a counterattack. It's best to back off and wait for the stance to end to avoid taking damage.

Vermilion Feathers Honglan retain some of the movesets back when she was in human form as Commander Honglan.

| Crimson Feathers |
Honglan floats for a bit, then unleashes red-colored projectiles that move toward you. This can easily get you killed if all of them managed to hit. Dodge to the opposite side of where they're headed, but be careful not to get hit by the projectiles trailing behind the first few. |
| Dual Blade Slash |
Performs an upward slash with two blades simultaneously. Best dodged backwards to keep an eye on her next move, but be careful for a follow up. |
| Crimson Cyclone |
Honglan jumps and deals damage upon landing, slashing her blades in all directions. Dodge the jump by moving backward, then move forward on the landing to get behind her. Clash with her sword strikes to try and open her up for Obliterate Strikes. |
| Forward Stab |
She charges from a distance and quickly attacks with a forward sword strike. This can be dodged forward to get behind her, but you have to quickly follow up with another dodge to avoid a possible follow up. |
| Leap Attack |
Honglan jumps up into the air and strikes with her dual blades upon landing. Dodge forward to get behind her and attack. |
| Quick Punches |
She performs two quick punches in succession. It's best to dodge backwards, as you might get caught in the attack by dodging in other directions. This is a good time to replenish your health, especially if you're in a good distance, since this move has a short reach. |
| Spinning Kick |
Honglan delivers two quick airborne kicks. Dodge backwards, as she can quickly follow this up with another one of her attacks. |
| Wing Spin |
Honglan spins twice, dealing damage with her wing, then unleashes a forward wing strike. Dodge backward during the spinning attacks, then dodge forward on the final strike to get behind her. |
| Vertical Crimson Slash |
Honglan gathers blood and puts her right blade to her left, then unleashes a vertical crimson slash to your location. This can be dodged in any direction except backward, as you might get hit by a follow up crimson slash. |
| Horizontal Crimson Slash |
Honglan gathers blood while spinning, then unleashes a horizontal crimson slash to your location. This can be dodged in any direction except backward, as you might get hit by a follow up crimson slash. |
| Winged Block |
Honglan places her wing in front of her, turning it red. If you attack her during this move, she will parry it and launch a counterattack. It's best to move away from her, when she's in this stance, as she'll try to strike you if you're near. |

Located in Doomwillow Beach
From the Palace Pass shrine, continue forward through the structure entrance and follow the path downward. Then, turn left when you reach the path with the red vines. Continue forward and drop down to the boss arena.
