Tang Palace Gate Answer

The correct answer would be The winged Ascension, as it gives you the Sheng - Lasting Alacrity Benediction.
Feathered Transcendence is the Only Way to Open the Locked Door
If you choose Feathered Transcendence, you will be teleported to a locked area on the left side of the central palace. You can obtain a Red Mercury Essence and Faint Red Feather upon defeating the enemy with glowing red eyes.
However, this option is not worth it as you miss out on obtaining the Benediction and will be unable to get the Discerning Eye achievement.

1. Go Through Palace Pass
| 1.1 |  At the top of the slope from Corpse Pits, you will see the entrance to Palace Pass. |

| 1.2 |  As you enter the first structure, climb up the stairs to your left. |
| 1.3 |  Once at the top, pick up the gold item that gives you the Bu - Plunging Ward. Go to the other side of the area and go down the ramp there. |
| 1.4 |  Turn left and open the big door up ahead. Upon entering, there are two more enemies ready to attack. Go up the staircase on your left to progress. |
| 1.5 |  For additional Red Mercury, you can go up another floor to fight and defeat a Ming Guard then pick up a Growing Red Mercury. |
| 1.6 |  Go across the bridge leading to another mountain. There are several enemies within camps along the mountainpath. At the top, there is a Ming Guard and a dog you need to watch out for. |
| 1.7 |  Once at the top, turn right and enter the cave. Climb up the ladder inside and exit through the other side. |
2. Unlock Palace Hill Shrine
| 2.1 |  Once you exit the cave, go down the slope and turn right to pick up the Incense Burner on top of a statue. From there, go across the water and talk to Xuanyangzi, who will ask you to do research for him. Continue down that path to progress. |

| 2.2 |  As you approach the gate to the Tang Emperor's Palace, watch out for wires held up by two poles on the ground. Crossing these will make the adjacent area explode after a short pause. Stay cautious while walking and go through the right side of the entrance to avoid the trap in the middle. |

| 2.3 |  Go up the central staircase and proceed into the next area up ahead. You will have to defeat the Dual-Wielding Ming Guard patrolling around the area. |
|
| 2.4 |  Keep walking forward and go through the red entrance ahead. At the far end of that area, you have to defeat the Ming Guard protecting a small chest containing the Eagle Pendant. |
|
| 2.5 |  Once you exit the area, turn right and go through the opening in the wall. Watch out for the several enemies you will encounter! Defeat the vase mimic in the area behind the ramp leading to the roof to obtain a Faint Red Feather. After that, go up to the roof. |
|
| 2.6 |  Go around the roof and go down the nearby ladder. Once you are at the bottom, proceed forward and defeat the Ming Guard ahead. Keep in mind that there is an enemy waiting behind the first wall to your right! |
|
| 2.7 |  To the left of the Ming Guard area, you can open the big door leading to Shu Sanctum. After that, go up the stairs right beside it. |
|
| 2.8 |  At the top of the stairs, keep following the path and go across the platform on your left. There are two enemies to the right, but no notable items to pick up. |
|
| 2.9 |  Continue down the snowy path until you reach a small gazebo at the end. |
|
| 2.10 |  Once you are at the small gazebo, the Ming Guard Swordsman will immediately strike towards you. You are free to not fight him at all, as you only need to go down the staircase to your left. |
|
| 2.11 |  As you go down the stairs, you will see a Benediction Gate to your right. Upon interacting with it, the correct choice would be to pick the The winged Ascension, which would give you the Sheng - Lasting Alacrity Benediction. If you pick the Feathered Transcendence, you will be teleported to Lotus Palace, a locked area in the Tang Palace. Continue on the path to your left to progress. | |
| 2.12 |  As you enter the central area, turn right and open the short ladder straight ahead. This will make the path much shorter on the way to the palace entrance. Go through the staircase on your left to progress. | |
| 2.13 |  On the entrance to your left, you can fight the Tang Palace Maid again, who will drop valuable loot upon defeat. You can also pick up a Lost Remains from a big chest then read a note on the table inside the area. From there, turn left and turn the corner. | 2.14 |  At the top, follow the path on your right and keep going until you unlock the shrine at the end. |
3. Place the Buddha Statue on Palace Hill
| 3.1 |  Go down the path in front of Palace Hill shrine. On your right, you can pick up the Aurum Feather Force spell from a body at the end. Continue down the path ahead to obtain a Bamboo Shoot and get closer to the Buddha Statue. |

| 3.2 |  At the end, go through the path on your right to obtain the Buddha Statue near a maiden's body. However, watch out for the enemy waiting behind the boxes, as well as the ones in the far corner across you. |
| 3.3 |  Go back to Palace Hill shrine and go up the path to the left. Keep going until you reach the top of the hill. |
| 3.4 |  Once you reach the top of the hill, talk to the Plain Warrioress, who will give you a Plumed Branch. You can place the Buddha Statue in another statue nearby. After you place the statue, the water in front of the central palace will drain, and will unlock that area. |
4. Defeat Honglan
| 4.1 |  Go back down the long ladder on the roof and go through the long path on your left. Watch out for the trip wires, as the blasts are enhanced by nearby explosives. The door on the left side is the Lotus Palace, which is where you will be brought if you chose Feathered Transcendence in the Benediction Gate. Go all the way to the end of the path. |

| 4.2 |  Defeat the Ming Guard at the end of the path then go through the small ramp on the right. Follow the ramp into a small area and pick up the pink item that gives you a Faint Red Feather. |
| 4.3 |  Go back to the front of the central palace, where you fought the Tang Palace Maid. Once you drop down the opening across the entrance, a cutscene will play and the Honglan boss fight will begin. ▶︎ Honglan Boss Tips |
5. Go to Hillswatch
| 5.1 |  Upon defeating Honglan, you wake up back in Reverent Temple and obtain the Reverent Temple Key and Wei - Combo Force Benediction. |

| 5.2 |  Go down the temple and talk to NPCs within the area. Once outside, go to the door on your left. |
| 5.3 |  Open the door ahead using the Reverent Temple Key and talk to Nian Suichang. |
| 5.4 |  Once you enter the new Reverent Temple area, go towards the exit on your left. |
| 5.5 |  Once you exit, go to your left to pick up a Faint Red Feather, then go back to the right to progress. This will lead you to a cave area. |
| 5.6 |  Once inside the cave, cross the bridge over to the other side then cross another bridge on your right. Go down the ladder nearby. |
| 5.7 |  At the bottom of the ladder, go through the narrow path on your left. Do the Tai Chi emote nearby the statue to obtain a Red Mercury Essence. Watch out for the hidden enemy around the corner on your left! Go back to the ladder and go through the path on your right. Use the elevator to go down. |
| 5.8 |  Get off the elevator and follow the path downwards. Make sure to stay close to the right wall of the cave, since you can easily fall and die. |
