General Tips for Bosses
- Distinguish Main and Optional Bosses
- Summon NPCs to Fight Alongside You
- Fight with Full Madness (Optional)
- Consume Items with Buffs Before the Fight
- Adjust Skills to Target Weaknesses
Distinguish Main and Optional Bosses
Find out if the boss you defeated is a main boss or an optional boss by the text that appears below the symbol after defeating them. If it says Shield of Causality, then it's a main boss that you need to defeat to progress the story. If it's Sankhara Wuchang, they're optional bosses that you can choose not to fight with.
Summon NPCs to Fight Alongside You
Summoned NPCs are a great way to draw aggro away from you, so you can focus on dealing damage to bosses for a while until the aggro returns to you. Not all of the NPCs will come to your aid, as they only show up for certain bosses.
Fight With Full Madness
Having full madness allows you to deal more damage at the cost of taking more damage. Take advantage of skill tree nodes that grant buffs when you’re at full madness to increase your effectiveness against bosses.
Your inner demon will not spawn if you pick up your mercuries in boss rooms while at full madness. You can increase your madness meter by purchasing items from the Invoke Menu at shrines.
Consume Items with Buffs Before the Fight
Consume your items that grant buffs and resistances before entering the boss room, since consuming these have animations which will leave you open for attacks.
Adjust Skills to Target Weaknesses
Most bosses have weaknesses, and you can unlock a Bone Needle in the skill tree that a boss is weak to and apply it to your weapon via Temperace to deal increased damage. You can respec and unlock different Bone Needles as needed to target other bosses that are weak to different status ailments.

There are currently 9 main bosses and 15 optional bosses, with a combined total of 24 bosses in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers until Cloudspire! Some of these bosses are missables, so you'll have to explore areas thoroughly to find them and get their drops!

Replay Bosses in New Game Plus
You can replay boss fights in New Game Plus by going through the entire story again to unlock different endings. You'll carry over your level, stats, and equipment, making it easier to defeat them.
