How to Enter the Shaft Locked Door
Go Down to the Tunnel with the Falling Boulders in the First Area
To get inside the locked room in the Bride's Boudoir, you must travel to the Shaft Entrance Shrine, go past the bridge with the Pendulum Hammer, and then turn left. Go straight until you reach the tunnel with two falling boulders. You can safely drop down to the hidden room at the end of the tunnel.

1. Go Down the Shaft
| 1.1 |  After defeating the Mistress of the Night - Huang Yan, proceed through the newly unlocked area. Circle around the top floor before proceeding down the shaft to get the Bloodied Paper. Once you've obtained the item, use the elevator going down to unlock the Shaft Shrine. |

| 1.2 |  Beside the Shaft Shrine is Fang Yao; talk to her and agree to help her save her sister. She will become an important NPC moving forward. If you do not agree to help her, you will find her dead body in one of the jail cells in the area. |
| 1.3 |  After speaking with Fang Yao, your next goal is to unlock the nearby door to access rare materials and open a shortcut back to the shrine for easier navigation. The simplest route is to go through the bridge with the Pendulum Hammer, then jump to the ledge on your right to reach a hidden area. |
| 1.4 |  Fight your way through the enemies until you reach a room containing the Bamboo Shoot and the Used Mortar, which you’ll later give to Wu Gang. After collecting them, exit the room while avoiding the endlessly respawning exploding enemies. Be sure to grab the Brilliant Red Feather on your way out. This path will lead you back to the locked door from earlier, and reveal a ladder that grants access to the lower section of the Shaft. |
| 1.5 |  After unlocking the sealed room, return to the bridge with the Pendulum Hammer. Defeat the Snowfall guard stationed there, then proceed through the tunnel where boulders fall from above. Wait for two boulders to drop before continuing down the path. Advance Tip: Jumping down the end of the tunnel would lead you to a locked room where you can obtain a Lost Remains. This would also allow you to skip through most of the areas in the Shaft and unlock the Bride Boudoir's Shrine immediately. This is a fast way to reach Fang Ling, but we still recommend going through the areas you skipped for some valuable loot. If you decided to unlock the shrine first, jump to this section. |
| 1.6 |  Beside the tunnel, you will find a broken wall that will lead you to a room with a fireplace. Smash the vases near the fireplace to reveal the hiding Mimic Vase and get another Brilliant Red Feather. |
| 1.7 |  Progress through the area, past the Spike Traps, to reach the walkway that will take you to the next area, which is the mad doctor's lair. Before proceeding to the next section, make sure to open the small chest on your right to get the Wei - Poise Force Benediction. |
2. Traverse Through the Mad Doctors' Lair
| 2.1 |  As you enter the mad doctor's lair, your first priority is to eliminate the mad doctors waiting to engage you. Watch out for their heavy slam attacks and the Poisonous Jar they’ll break during the fight. Once they’re defeated, activate the lever at the end of the hallway to unlock a path that will take you around the area. |

| 2.2 |  Activate the second lever to open the adjacent door. Turn right and head down to the first room to get the Mad Doctor's Research Notes. This can later be shown to He Youzai and Xuanyangzi. Continue forward, passing through the broken jail cell to get a Brilliant Feather. |
| 2.3 |  In the next room, head left and drop down the ledges to reach a tunnel that leads to the next area. Watch out for the enemy that will pounce at you! Before reaching the next lever, turn right first to open the locked door leading to the room with the mad doctor's Research Notes. |
| 2.4 |  Once you activate the next lever, don't rush in the room, as a boulder will roll down the path! Slowly make your way through the tunnel by going to the sides where there is room to dodge the rolling boulders. Along the way, defeat the mining enemies and destroy any Crimson Veins on your path. Continue toward the left side, where you’ll find a ladder leading to the Crimson Pendant and the final lever in the area. |
| 2.5 |  After opening the last lever, go left. Be careful of the exploding enemy and the poisonous jars at the end of the hallway. Eliminate the coffin enemies in the room to your right, then unlock the nearby door, which provides a shortcut back to the floor’s entrance. Once all enemies have been defeated, speak with He Youzai just outside the room. You can show him Mad Doctor's Research Notes and the Research Journal - Scrap 1. After speaking with him, proceed to the opposite side of the bridge to unlock the Bride's Boudoir Shrine. |
3. Go through the Bride's Boudoir
| Note: If you drop down to the locked room in the beginning, you have to turn right and go through the bridge with the Pendulum Hammer and past the area with two Junior Maids to unlock your next checkpoint, the Bride's Boudoir Shrine. |
| 3.1 |  From the Bride's Boudoir Shrine, make your way through the area with the Pendulum Hammer, then drop down to the sides to reach a hidden area. This will take you to a room where you can open a small chest to get the Ren - Combo Vigor Benediction. Make your way back to the first area by jumping to the hole on the right. |

| 3.2 |  Once you're back to the first area of the boudoir, make your way through the other end of the Pendulum Hammer bridge, where you will be greeted by a Senior Palace Maid and a Snowfall Guard. Be careful when fighting both of them, as they could take you down easily! Past that area, you would reach a jail cell where you would see Honglan being held. Speak to her, and she would ask you to get rid of the guards around the area. |
| 3.3 |  After speaking with Honglan, proceed further down the boudoir. On your left you would see a glowing point of interest, where you can use the Examine Pose to get the Dragon-Fish Pendant. You can then proceed to kill the rest of the enemies to open the Dungeon Key, which you can give to Honglan to help her escape. Regardless of whether or not you give it to her, she will be able to escape the jail, but we recommend giving the key to her to get the Coiled Dragon Pendant. |
| 3.4 |  Once Honglan is free, you can proceed to the last area of the boudoir, where you can activate the elevator going back to the first shrine. Do this before crossing the bridge in front of you, as this will take you directly to Fang Ling! |
4. Save Fang Ling
| 4.1 |  After returning to the first shrine, use the elevator again to go down to the lowest section of the shaft. Cross the bridge with the enemy at the end to drop down to the Wedding Hall, where you can fight the area boss. |

| 4.2 |  Save Fang Ling from her fate to unlock the Wedding Hall Shrine. After dreaming at the shrine, speak with Fang Yao, who now sits quietly before the wedding altar. She will give you Fang Yao’s Hairband and Fang Yao’s Light Gown. You’ll also be able to hear the full version of the sisters’ lullaby, showing their past bond and experience. Finally, speak to the Storyteller beside the shrine. He will teleport you to Hillswatch Cave, the path leading onward to Mt. Zhenwu. ▶︎ Proceed to Battlefield Pass |
