New Disciplines can be unlocked within the Impetus Repository. You will, of course, need the necessary Materials needed to reach a new Discipline, but this would mean that you can equip the newly unlocked Discipline to any weapon of the same type.
| Tied to a Specific Weapon | Equipable to Other Weapons | |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon Skill | ✔️ | ❌ |
| Discipline | ❌ | ✔️ |
The main difference between Disciplines and Weapons Skills is that one can be changed, while the other is not. Disciplines can be paired with and equipped to weapons of a similar type, while Weapon Skills are unique to each weapon.
