How to Beat Nightmare Demon
Equip Stab, Slash, and Blunt Mitigation
Since the Nightmare Demon wields all weapon types, equipping armor with high mitigation against Stab, Slash, and Blunt attacks will help you tank more hits during the fight.
Beware of Deflects
The Nightmare Demon can deflect your attacks whenever it wields Dual Blades, and it might leave you vulnerable for a bit, giving the boss a window to attack you.
Hit the Boss Continuously
The Nightmare Demon can be staggered easily, much like Inner Demons, so continuous attacks will often interrupt its moves. However, it can switch weapons mid-battle, and may deflect your attacks with weapons capable of parrying.
Keep pressing the attack to eventually break the Nightmare Demon's poise. However, this does not trigger a window for an Obliterate Attack, as it will become briefly staggered instead.

| Slicing Combo |
With her dual blades, the Nightmare Demon slices with two cuts before launching herself forward with both her blades cutting in an arc around her. |
| Spinning Kick |
Similar to a skill available to Wuchang for the Dual Blades, the Nightmare Demon twirls around and slashes with her blades, before doing a spinning kick. Dodge to the side and attack her from the flank. |
| Charged Dual Blades Attack |
Similar to the charged dual blade attack that Wuchang has, the Nightmare Demon slices with both her blades in two directions, before launching in a cutting arc in front of her. Dodge to her side and attack her then. |
| Shadow Lunge |
Similar to a skill available on the Impetus Repository, the Nightmare Demon thrusts her blades multiple times, before landing an extra powerful thrust at the end. Dodge to the side and attack her from the flank. |
| Block |
Similar to the Block skill on the Twin Bandits, the Nightmare Demon has a chance of blocking any damage coming her way. |
| Whirlwind Top |
The Nightmare Demon spins herself like a top, cutting her blades in a whirlwind consecutively for a while or until interrupted. |
| Charged Flurry |
The Nightmare Demon rears back and lets out a charged blade attack that has her attacking in a flurry around her. Keep your distance to avoid the damage. |

The Nightmare Demon will charge an axe attack similar to one available for Wuchang. Dodge in any direction to avoid getting hit. |
| Mighty Blow |
Similar to the Mighty Blow skill for the Axe, the Nightmare Demon will slash in an arc around her before slamming it down on her target. Dodge in any direction to avoid getting hit. |
| Upward Slice Combo |
The Nightmare Demon can start an Upward Slice combo, which can stagger your character if hit. Dodge in any direction to avoid getting hit. |
| Earthshatter |
Using the Axe, the Nightmare slams the handle down on the ground and creates a kinetic blast, potentially sending you flying. When the Nightmare Demon starts raising her axe, dodge forward before getting slammed by the blast. |
| Axe Blast |
At any point, the Nightmare Demon may point the Axe at you and fires a projectile, blasting you a distance away when hit. Dodge to the side to avoid the attack. |
| Thunderous Cleave |
Similar to the charged attack Wuchang has with the Axe, the Nightmare Demon may use the charged attacked Thunderous Cleave, which damages its target significantly. Stay clear of the huge arcs she makes with her swings and maintain your distance. |
| Whirlwind |
Similar to a skill on the Impetus Repository, the Nightmare Demon swings her axe around in a whirlwind. Stay clear of the huge arcs she makes with her swings and maintain your distance, or use the block skill to disrupt the attack. |

The Nightmare Demon cuts through your attacks and lands some quick cuts to you. Dodge in any direction to create some distance. |
| Blink Kick |
The Nightmare Demon quickly rolls to the ground and kicks you. This is usually followed up with a Feathering Windstrike. Dodge right before the Roll-Kick, then dodge once more after the blade sends its charge. |
| Feathering Windstrike |
Similar to a skill for the Long Blade, the Nightmare Demon charges her blade and slashes, creating an air projectile that will knock you back and hurt significantly. |
| Corrosive Flurry |
The Nightmare Demon charges for a corrupting sword combo, which will immediately corrupt you. This combo very quickly moves towards you so dodge back and maintain your distance. |
| Sword Counter |
At any of your strikes, the Nightmare Demon has a chance of parrying or blocking your strikes. |
| Charged Slice Combo |
The Nightmare Demon will charge up a heavy attack against you, before back flipping to the air and charging one last thrust that will chip away at your health if not dodged. Either dodge or use moves that lift you safely in the air while she attacks. |

Found in Luo Courtyard
From the Annalum Shrine, follow the path downward and continue until you reach Worship's Rise, where the's a glowing gold totem. Proceed through the area and head up the large flight of stairs toward Luo Courtyard, where you previously fought Lu Hongliu, to find the Nightmare Demon.
