The build's main weapon is the Lashing Whip with Sword Counter as a means to generate Skyborn Might. Steampowered Spear will be used as a secondary weapon that focuses on applying Obliterate with the Echo of Dhutanga.

The Disciplinary Force set is on the Lashing Whip as it will be the main weapon of the build, allowing it to deal high damage while gaining Skyborn Might. While the Benedictions set on Steampowered Spear aim to increase its damage after applying burn and using Steam Chain.

Make your way to the Utility Path and take Fury of the Skyborn to lessen the cost of Echo of Dhutanga. Then make your way to the Longsword and Spear trees to take Sword Counter and Aerial Bulwark - Variant, respectively.

After completing the initial trees, complete the Utility Path by taking Skyborn Call III and the remaining Manna Flask upgrades. Afterwards, take the stat nodes in the Longsword tree and take the Spearveil Discipline in the Spear tree.

We recommend armor that specializes in defense against Feathering and Physical damage, as most enemies in the endgame area deal Feathering damage. However, you are free to swap these with any armor of your choosing.

The Eagle, Dragonling, and Tiger Pendants will be a source of damage boost for all your attacks. You can swap out the Eagle pendant with the Demon pendant for more Fire damage.

Temperance and Acupoints

Bone Needle - FlameBone Needle - Flame Used via tempering to boost your weapon's Fire Attack Power and enable it to cause Burn buildup.
Shadow Stone Needle - StrengthShadow Stone Needle - Strength Taps into your acupoint to slightly increase the Strength Control of the weapon you're wielding.
Everlight Stone Needle - ContinuityEverlight Stone Needle - Continuity Stimulate your meridians to increase the duration of Tempering.
Shadow Stone Needle - AgilityShadow Stone Needle - Agility Taps into your acupoint to slightly increase the Agility Control of the weapon you're wielding.

The Flame bone needle is the best to use for the build as it helps build up Burn while you alternate between Whip Dance and Steam Chain. For your Acupoints, it's best to take the Agility and Strength needles for your weapon scaling. Make sure to equip the Continuity needle to prolong your Flame buff.

The Mana Vase will be your primary source of healing. While your Temperance is your source of Burn application for the Lashing Whip. The Niter Fire Pot is used as an extra damage source for ranged encounters, while the Plumed Branch is best used during boss fights, allowing you to immediately chain weapon skills.

Playstyle Tips

Encounter Rotation

  1. Use light attacks and Sword Counters from Lashing Whip to gain 5 stacks of Skyborn Might.
  2. Swap to Steampowered Spear before using Swift Draw.
  3. Use Swift Draw to cast Whip Dance.
  4. Use Swift Draw again to Cast Steam Chain.
  5. Use Echo of Dhutanga and perform an Obliterating Strike on your enemy.
  6. Use Swift Draw to cast Whip Dance again and swap back to Lashing Whip.
