The best way to farm Red Mercury is by defeating all enemies past the right doorway near the Zhenwu Antechamber worship shrine. Keep in mind that this method is only viable once you have unlocked the backdoor behind the worship shrine.
From the Zhenwu Antechamber worship shrine, head out the backdoor shortcut and go past the right doorway to find 2 bird enemies fighting with 2 heavy soldiers. Eliminate them to get 6,408 Red Mercury and then turn to your right by the gazebo to defeat the two-headed lady to receive 5,160 Red Mercuries, amounting a total of 11,568 Red Mercuries per runback.

The Avian Dwelling farming method is capable of providing 7,040 Red Mercuries per runback every time you defeat the 4 bird enemies fighting with each other.
From the Aviann Marsh worship shrine, take the shortcut ladder just outside the hut and climb up the long ladder. Once you're there, turn around and circle to the right to find the 2 bird enemies that will be invaded by another 2 bird enemies as soon as you get close.

This quick and early Red Mercury farming area near the Mort Grotto worship shrine allows you to get 2000 Red Mercuries every minute by defeating the large tree enemy inside the cave.
You can access this area as soon as you arrive at the Snowy Passage worship shrine and take the path on the right side to cross the bridge and enter the cave. Head past the large tree enemy and a few more mobs, then take the right path to eventually lead you to the Mort Grotto worship shrine next to a large seal.

These large tree enemies are extremely vulnerable to Fire damage as they will be staggered and stop attacking once hit, giving you enough time to deal damage. Make sure to hit them with Fire damage again once they start attacking, so you can easily defeat them and run back to farm more Red Mercury.

The enemies grouped up near the explosive jars before Dhutanga's boss area can drop up to 240 Red Mercury per runback. Ideally, you want to be using a Fire Pot to speed up the process but in case you run out, you can always manually farm them for just a few levels.
How to Beat Man-Eating Dhutanga

If you are having a hard time facing Great Centipede, you can backtrack a bit from the Bandit Camp worship shrine and defeat the winged corrupted enemy that only has half health to drop 480 Red Mercury with an additional 36 Red Mercury from the human before it.
Make sure to approach it from the back and eliminate it quickly, as this type of enemy has a good number of attacks that can easily kill you if you are not careful.
How to Beat Blightweaver Great Centipede

Commander Honglan is a huge skill check for new players, so we highly recommend being level 30+ at this point. From the Palace Hill worship shrine, head back to the roof and climb down the ladder to defeat the 2 soldiers at both the left and right paths before the boss area and gain 456 Red Mercury, and another 300 Red Mercury if you cleared the other human enemies along the way.
