Temperance is used to enchance weapons with status effects or elements in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Read on to see an explanation for the Temperance System, where to get Tempering Needles, and how to unlock Tempering here!
List of Contents

In order to use the Temperance item, you first have to equip it in your quickslot under the Equipment menu. Doing so will allow you to select the item on your Item Slot and use it just like any other item to apply buffs to your weapon.
Weapons with elements already attached to them such as the Vermillion War Club cannot be used with Temperance as the game does not allow you to. Do note that you can bypass this by using a regular weapon and attach Discipline skills that have other elements on your skill tree, and then applying Temperance as you use the skill to create a double element effect.

Tempering enhances weapons with status effects or elements. Bone Needles and Stone Needles are used to set the type of effects Temperance will give your equipped weapon.
Bone Needles determine the effect or element that applies to your weapon and only one can be used at a time. Meanwhile, Stone Needles enhances the Bone Needle's effects and up to 4 can be used at the same time provided that they are unlocked from the Impetus Repository.

Bone Needles can be obtained from the Impetus Repository while Stone Needles can be obtained from defeating Inner Demons in certain areas.

Temperance is a feature that is unlocked in Worship Shrines after defeating Man-Eating Dhutanga at Lightzen Temple.
