How to Get Faint Red Feather
All Faint Red Feather Locations
Faint Red Feathers are dropped by certain enemies upon defeat or can be found by looting purple-glowing items. Here are all the locations where you can obtain these feathers:

Before proceeding down Buddha hills, turn to the far left of the building, and you will find a Faint Red Feather you may pick up at the foot of the structure. | |

Near the Lightzen Temple shrine, there is a rundown house containing an enemy that will drop a Faint Red Feather. | |

There is a house shrouded by bamboo shoots across the Lightzen Temple shrine. Inside, on the right room, there is a Faint Red Feather you may pick up. | |

Take the flight of stairs up to one of the village houses at Shu Sanctum, and the Vase enemy is hidden amongst other pots and vases. | |

Climb up to one of the highest houses in Shu Sanctum by using the stairs and ladders, and use the wooden boards to take you across rooftops. Once you get there, there is a Vase enemy is hidden amongst other pots and vases. | |

Near the tree you use to get to Shu Sanctum, there is a Faint Red Feather on the Village sign, by the fork of the road. | |

By the entrance to Mercury Workshop, there is a path to the left. At the end of it, there is a Faint Red Feather you may pick up. | |

At Mercury Workshop, nearby one of the golden entranceways, there is an enemy hiding in a vase at the end of the path. | |

In one of the many passage ways in Mercury Workshop, there is a path leading to a scaffolding above a glowing enemy. It will drop a Faint Red Feather when slain. | |

From the Mercury Workshop shrine, take the path downwards lined with railings, and head opposite of the cave entrance lined with charms. You'll meet a winged foe, and a Faint Red Feather that can be picked up beside it. | |

Hand over a White Jade Dumpling to Qiao Ying to receive a Faint Red Feather and Divination Crescent. | |
 |
From the tree used as a shortcut in Shu Sanctum, run down the path leading downwards, and you'll find the Faint Red Feather at the end of the path. | |

Defeat the Ogre waiting at Annalum courtyard and be rewarded with a Scenic Painting, Faint Red Feather, and Red Mercury Essence. | |

There are two Ogres waiting by red tendrils at Shu Sanctum, turn to the right from the archway and you'll be able to pick it up after slaying the Ogres. | |

While facing the Mercury Workshop shrine, take the ladder on the right, then turn to the left. Avoid the spike traps, and make your way up the wooden boards to the top of the area. Keep walking along the spine-like organic path and you'll encounter a Bamboozling on the way there. The path ahead is rigged with explosive darts so get ready to dodge! Afterwards, the feather is at the end of the path. |

From the Boss area of the Great Centipede, head to the cave in the corner, up to the Tower of Sacrifice. Take the elevator and get off the first level. Hop down the platform to get the Faint Red Feather. | |

Starting from Lu Mansion shrine, take the elevator down, and go towards the grove of trees. Your Inner Demon will manifest here so be ready. You can pick up the feather at the end of the path afterwards. |

At Lotus Pond, head inside the structure towards the left of the Tang Palace Maid boss, and defeat the glowing enemy inside the building. | |

Opposite from where you climb up to the gazebo in Lotus Pond, there' a pathway that leads to a stairway up. Following this path leads to a nearby cliffside overlooking the palace. Continue to the next building and run downstairs. Turn towards the right and climb up the ladder. Go down the stairs, and underneath where the stairs were is an enemy that will drop a Faint Red Feather when slain. | |

Defeat the enemy near the bridge left of the main Hillswatch path to get the Coral Bracelet then give it to Hillswatch's Female Servant. You will receive a Faint Red Feather and Spicy Soup, and she perishes shortly after your interaction. | |

| Snowy Passage | In the path on your way to the Snowy Passage shrine, turn left and defeat the enemy at the end. | |
| Mort Grotto | Pick this up across the bridge you lower in Mort Grotto. | |

Faint Red Feather can be purchased from Wu Gang for 600 Red Mercury.
Though it can be purchased, it will not appear until the next tier of Red Feathers start appearing.
How to Use Faint Red Feather
Used in the Impetus Repository to Master Weapons
The Faint Red Feather is used for upgrading Wuchong's weapon mastery over a specific weapon type in the Impetus Repository.
Incremental Increases Per Upgrade

| In Total | 12 Feathers Needed | |
Upgrading a Weapon Mastery node will usually incrementally increase per upgrade, and are usually upgraded three times. The next Mastery node will require a higher feather tier as well.
The only exception to requiring 12 feather units is the Lustrous Red Feather, which is the final tier available. The final mastery node only requires 1 Lustrous Red Feather to be fully upgraded.
Reallocate Feathers To Unlock More Paths
Paths can be unlocked in the Impetus Repository by shifting an upgrade from a Weapon Mastery Node to another of the same type, and it will be as if it was the same node.
The requirements will shift dynamically to what you've already spent, so you can strategically use your feathers to unlock powerful skills or abilities to aid Wuchang's journey. It will not affect the tier you are at as long as you've spent a certain amount of feathers on a Weapon Mastery Node.
