You'll want to use the Astral Blade for its magic scaling as the build focuses on spellcasting. Other than its magic scaling, the weapon skill Awakening Seal also allows faster activation of Biding Time.

Flickering Blade, on the other hand, is best used when you're forced into fast close combat, allowing you to deflect multi-hit attacks.

For your Impetus Progression, you'll want to obtain Skyborn Call I and Biding Time as soon as possible for constant Skyborn Might gain. Afterwards, continue obtaining until Skyborn Call III and the Magic Node near for increased spell damage.

After taking all you need in the utility path, obtain the Windforce Node from the One-handed Sword tree and get the magic nodes there. After completing the tree, be sure to watch out for magic nodes that can be activated multiple times.

The use of Light Armor for the build mainly focuses on resistances, as the build is mostly used in ranged combat. The armor for this build is entirely swappable depending on your needs or boss encounter.

The Embroidered Headband, Junior Maid's Garment, along with the Bridal Shackles and Dress, provide high resistance to non-physical damage, giving you more defense against spells cast on you.

For your Early game Pendants, you'll want the Bird Pendant to increase Astral Blade's magic power with its Temperance, and the Twin Infant Pendant with the Child's Hope Pendant for more stamina recovery.

You'll want the Magic bone needle and shadow stone needle with the build to temper your Astral Blade with magic damage. Using this Temperance makes your melee attacks viable, especially when used with the Bird Pendant. We also recommend slotting in the Continuity needle to prolong the temper on your weapon.

We highly recommend using Fiery Flying Dagger along with this setup to synergize with the Burning Might aspect of the build, increasing your damage when an enemy burns.

Other items in your loadout should be your Manna Flasks and the Steamed Bunny Bun for healing, and your Temperance to activate the magic damage buff on your weapon.

Playstyle Tips

Encounter Rotation

  1. Dodge and Cast Infernal Flames or Echo of Dhutanaga.
  2. Dodge to gain more Skyborn Might and activate Awakening Seal for more Skyborn Might generation.
  3. Rinse and Repeat Burn procs against enemies.
  4. Use Flickering Blade to deflect multi-hit attacks.
  5. Cast other spells for other status effects
