Strength Boosts your damage when wielding Greataxes, Longswords, and Spears.
Agility Boosts your damage when wielding Dual Blades, Longswords, Spears, and One-Handed Swords.
Magic Boosts your One-Handed Sword and Spell damage.
Feathering Boosts weapon damage affected by Feathering properties, and Feathering-type Spell damage.

The Bitter Severance is acquired after defeating Fang Ling in the lowest section of the Shaft. You can face Fang Ling by passing through the Bride's Boudoir area and falling from the collapsable bridge at the end.
