How to Play in a Team
Select the Number Under Teams
| 1 |  Select VS Race from main menu. |

| 2 |  Select a character and a vehicle. |
| 3 |  Select the number of teams. |
| 4 |  Choose the team you want to join. |
You can select the number of teams you play against. There can be two, three, or even four teams. Note though that this only works in Singleplayer and Multiplayer, but not Online Play.
Four Teams Max

| Two Teams | 12 people |
| Three Teams | Eight people |
| Four Teams | Six people |
You can form teams in VS Race, Balloon Battle, and Coin Runners. The number of members will vary depending on how many teams there will be.
Tips When Working With a Team
Points Are Added per Team
In teams, players share their scores and contribute to their team's total score per track. This means even if a skilled player gets a lot of points, their team will not win if the other members don't get enough points. All in all, this can result in a balanced match as everyone gets a chance to contribute to the points.
The team with the highest points wins at the end of the series!
Don't Hit Your Teammates
You can still use items when going against other teams. The downside of this is that you can accidentally hit your teammates, and lose any potential points to win the race. Be careful when throwing bananas, and shells.
Coordinate with your team, and you can even come up with devastating combos to destroy your opponents.
