You can throw a Banana by pressing the L button while the Joycon stick is titled forward. You can throw it at the racer directly in front of you to make them spin and lose their lead.
You can maximize your Bananas by placing them in front of Item Boxes, ramps, narrow paths, and shortcuts. Players usually go through these places, making it highly likely for them to slip if a Banana is in the way.
Bananas can be placed at the back of your vehicle when you get them. This is to protect you from incoming shell attacks from your opponents. To put them at the back, press the L button while the Joycon is tilted backward.
There is a high chance that there'll be multiple Bananas scattered throughout the track. Stay vigilant and dodge all of them as much as possible.
They are most likely placed in front of item boxes, ramps, narrow paths, and shortcuts so keep an eye out.
If you see an opponent with a Banana on their Kart, you can remove it by hitting it with a shell item. Even though it's possible to eliminate them, it is highly recommended to avoid them instead.
