This is a guide on how to execute a Wall Ride in Mario Kart World. Learn how to do a Wall Ride, as well as found essential Wall Ride Tips in this guide.
List of Contents
The first method to start Wall Riding is to prepare your Charge Jump and release it toward the wall. Your kart will then drive up the wall and on it, just as it would on the ground.
How to Charge Jump
The second method to start Wall Riding is to jump off of a ramp and do a trick in the air with the R button, and come into contact with the wall while still performing the trick. This will allow you to start riding the wall without taking the time to prepare a Charge Jump!
Currently, you can only perform a wall run for a limited time, and cannot maintain it indefinitely. Although there hasn't been an official statement, footage from the recent Nintendo Direct program shows that the wall run can last for at least three seconds.
You can perform multiple wall runs by hopping from one wall to another. This can be quite useful because you may encounter situations where it is much more beneficial to stay on the walls than to drive on the ground.
Similar to drifting, performing a wall run also charges your mini-turbo at a much faster rate. This makes wall running much more desirable, as it lets you reach the ultra mini-turbo state faster.
You can jump off a rail slide and proceed to do a wall ride, and vice versa. Not only does it look cool, but it also performs well in practice, allowing you to reach places you normally couldn't.
