Coin Item Effects and Uses

Coin Coin
Effect Gives you two coins. The more coins you have, the faster your kart becomes.
Change from Previous Games:
Individual coins give less of a boost.

Get a Speed Boost

When you get the Coin item from an item box, you can press the L Button to use it. This gives you two coins, which makes your Kart drive faster.

Collect More Coins to Go Even Faster

The more coins you get, the faster your Kart goes, so collect as many coins as you can!

How to Deal With Coin

Hit Your Opponent With Items

When you hit an opponent with an item, such as a banana or a shell, they will drop their coins, which makes them lose the speed boost as well.
