Characters and karts with higher top speeds tend to perform better, a preference often seen among experienced players. While high-speed setups typically come with lower acceleration, their advantage on straightaways, which is common in most tracks, makes up for it.

One drawback of prioritizing speed is the loss of handling, which can make controlling your kart more difficult. However, with practice, this trade-off becomes much less of an issue.
