| Effect | Your kart will turn invisible for a certain time, and allows you to pass through obstacles like Bananas. Additionally, it also steals an item from another player. |

Boo is a versatile item that can be used offensively or defensively. Its invisibility effect can be used to defend against incoming items, such as shells, as well as environmental hazards, like bananas and hammers. This allows you to traverse the track as usual and maintain the optimal route.
Boo has the unique ability to steal an item from a random opponent. This can cause a huge shift in momentum in your favor because it simultaneously deprives your opponent of an item while providing you with one.

Players carrying an item will have it placed behind them, allowing other players to identify it. If it's a triple item, it will revolve around their kart. Use this information to your advantage and decide if you want to steal a specific item.
Boo will give the user a single mushroom when it returns if it targets a player with no items in either slot. While mushrooms aren't the best items to steal given Boo's rarity, they're a decent consolation if your decision to use Boo was made to avoid taking damage.
Since players under the effect of Boo can't be hit by items, you must wait for the effect to wear off before attempting to hit them with items. Wait for an opportune moment to use an item after the effect has worn off, such as an incoming sharp turn.
Players affected by Boo are now much more visible. This makes it easier for players to keep track of others under Boo's effect and be more aware of the player using Boo. Players are less likely to be taken by surprise by the invisibility effect than before.
