Change from Previous Games:
Now more commonly spawns from Item Boxes.

Gives a Speed Boost Each Use While Active

The Golden Mushroom is a Dash Mushroom that provides a momentary speed boost with each use while it is active for. This speed boost can be used to recover momentum, pass other racers, or even do shortcuts.

Do Off Road Shortcuts

Similar to a regular Mushroom, using this item will help in keeping the speed and momentum regardless of the terrain. Use a single or multiple mushrooms in succession to easily clear off road terrain as shortcuts.

How to Deal With Golden Dash Mushroom

Use Attack Items to Waste the Active Mushroom

Unlike regular Mushrooms or invincibility items such as the Bullet Bill and Super Star, the Golden Musroom will not give invicinbility when used. Take advantage by aiming and throwing an Attack Item to enemies who have the Golden Dash Mushroom to waste its active state.

What Ranking Does Golden Dash Mushroom Appear At?

More Likely to Appear at Lower Rankings

Dash Mushrooms are items that can help in accelerating and giving a speed boost to cover long distances, so they tend to appear when you are at a lower ranking.

However, if you are too far away from the first place, they may appear in positions such as second or third place. They will never appear in first place.
