Lightweight Character Traits

Has High Acceleration and Handling

Mario Kart World - Yoshi Stats

Lightweight Character boasts high Acceleration and Handling. Players will have an easy time maneuvering in courses with many curves and can quickly recover after getting hit by an item.

However, Lightweight Characters have low Speed and Weight. Heavier characters can easily knock away Lightweight Characters, which could lead to you falling out of the course and losing time.

Featherweight Characters for Experienced Players

Mario Kart World - Princess Daisy Racing

Featherweight Characters have better Acceleration and Handling compared to Lightweight Characters. However, Lightweight Characters have more Speed and Weight.

It is recommended that you only try Featherweight Characters after you get used to the advantages and disadvantages of playing Lightweight Characters. Lightweight Characters, like Peach and Daisy, have more balanced stats compared to Featherweight Characters, like Baby Mario and Baby Luigi.
