Effect Gives you two coins. The more coins you have, the faster your kart becomes.

Use It All Right Away

Since the speed boost from coins lasts throughout the entire race, one of the most common uses of the Question Block is to use it up all at once by spamming the L button until it runs out. This allows you to immediately gain the benefits of all the coins.

Wait Until the Cost Is Clear

Coins only benefit you while you hold them. You may find yourself unable to defend against oncoming hazards. Since you lose coins when you take damage, it may be wise to wait until it is safe to use the Question Block if you feel like you're at risk of losing coins shortly after getting them.

How to Deal With Question Block

Deal Damage to the Player

Players who have obtained coins by using the Question Block can still lose them by taking damage. Dealing damage to a player with items like the blue shell should cause them to lose a good amount of coins.

Steal It by Using Boo

If you manage to get Boo from an item box, you can use it to steal a Question Block from a player who is holding off on using it.
