Emits a large sonic blast to knock away nearby karts and items.
Change from Previous Games: All affected players now drop their items when hit. |
|---|---|
The Super Horn can be activated multiple times which can blow away and destroy any nearby items, making it effective as a counter to almost all items such as the Blue Shell.
Any nearby players will also be pushed away from the player that uses the Super Horn.
Additionally, the Super Horn's blast can make enemy players drop their items, so if you see an opponent holding a good item, you can hit them with the Super Horn.
The Super Horn is one of the strongest items to get in first place as it counters most of the items that can cause you to lose your lead, even the Blue Shell.
You can easily spot a player with a Super Horn ready to go by the large red box behind their kart. While it's mostly used defensively, its best to stay away from players that have them to avoid getting pushed away accidentally.
Another strategy to hit an enemy with a Super Horn ready, is to simply wait it out until they use it for some other reason. There will be a short opening where the player can't use the Super Horn where you can then target them with a Red Shell.
If you see the Blue Shell in the mini-map you can also force the player in first place to either defend from your Red Shell, or from the Blue Shell.
The Super Horn, while a bit of a uncommon item to get, can be frequently obtained at around first to sixth place.
