Ashen Steps Walkthrough
1. Healing Pailune
| 1.1 | Meet Torstein |
|---|---|
| Plan the next set of actions with Torstein. Speak with him by the gate and listen as you follow him to the river. |
2. A Bond
| 2.1 | Read the Letter |
|---|---|
| Read the letter from White Crow to progress. It will indicate a location that you must visit. | |
| 2.2 | Go to the Location Indicated in the Letter |
| Go to the Bamboo Forest Seonangdang. You must light up the stone lanterns there to summon Maegu the Witch. |
3. Ritual Preparations
| 3.1 | Read the Memories of the Shipwreck |

| Go to the Shipwreck Shore to read the memories there. Enemies roam the area, so prepare for combat once you get there. | |
| 3.2 | Retrieve the Items Maegu Requested |
| You must collect 3 items requested by Maegu in the shipwreck. These items are the purple icons on the minimap.
1. Talisman - Can be found on the sand near the broken sail. 2. Bells - Located on the sand behind the shipwreck. 3. Censer - Located under the shipwreck. Use Nature's Grasp to lift the shipwreck. |
4. Where the Wind Guides You
| 4.1 | Return to the Altar |

| Go back to the Bamboo Forest Seonangdang after collecting all the items and start the ritual. | |
| 4.2 | Find the Fortress on the Hill |
| Head to the Fort Ironclad located northeast of your current position. It is currently occupied by enemies and Gregor the Halberd of Carnage, so prepare to be chased by them. You can ignore them and focus on the objective for now. |

| 4.3 | Find Woosa |
| Infiltrate the fortress and head inside the main castle to find Woosa. Gregor will stop you once you find Woosa. | |
| 4.4 | Defeat Gregor the Halberd of Carnage |
| You must defeat Gregor to rescue Woosa safely. Gregor has a surprisingly slow attack speed, and you can exploit that to land perfect parries and counters to beat him fast. You can pick up an Abyss Artifact and get his Golden Vanguard Halberd from Gregor after defeating him. |

| 4.5 | Take Woosa to Maegu |
| Escort Woosa to the Bamboo Forest Seonangdang. Shadow Harpies will target her but you can defend her by using Blinding Flash to the harpies. Enemy soldiers will also come after the both of you so make sure to defeat them as well.
After getting out of the castle, call your horse and make your way to the forest with Woosa. |
