+Spd/-Def

The best IVs for Monica are +Spd and -Def. Spd is a superboon and boosts her already very high Spd up to base 47. Monica also requires high Spd in order to take advantage of the 【Desperation】 effect of Wind Genesis.

Monica's Def is at a low base 24, and lowering it further will not impact any of her matchups. She will still be defeated by most physical damage dealers. Thus, it is safe to take as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 merge

We recommend +Spd when merging Monica to +10 for similar reasons above. Spd is her most important stat and should be prioritized.

How to Use, Explanation

Using Null Follow-Up 3 prevents enemies denying her follow-up attack, turning the battle into a Spd check. This allows Monica to then trigger the Desperation effect of Wind Genesis and defeat her opponent before they can counterattack.

Monica is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Monica Strengths

Wind Genesis grants both visible and in-combat Atk/Spd bonuses, a Desperation effect, and inflicts Spd/Res penalties on foe

Monica's Wind Genesis tome grants Atk/Spd+12 (6 visible and 6 in-combat), a 【Desperation】 effect that allows Monica to make her follow-up attack before her foe can counterattack, and inflicts a Spd/Res penalty onto her foe dependent on her foe's maximum Special cooldown count value.

For example, if her foe has a 2 charge Special like Ruptured Sky and is wielding a weapon that accelerates Special cooldown bringing Ruptured Sky down to 1 cooldown, then the Spd/Res penalty inflicted will be Spd/Res-9.

This is a powerful offensive weapon that grants a lot of raw stats, and the Desperation effect should keep Monica safe while she defeats her foe.

Additionally, the visible bonuses applied also activate her own Atk/Spd Ideal 4 skill!

Monica Weaknesses

Wind Genesis's effects are reliant on her opponent

The effects of Wind Genesis are not 100% consistent and are dependeng on her foe's stats and/or Special cooldown. The Desperation effect is useless if Monica is outsped, and the Spd/Res penalties can be minimized by equipping a high cooldown Special like Aether or Galeforce.

Monica will need to check her opponents carefully and only fight battles where she has the advantage.
