What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill deals adaptive damage, grants Atk/Spd bonuses, deals true damage based on unit's bonuses or foe's penalties, and can retreat back to unit's initial position. ・Duo Skill grants extra movement and applies Atk/Spd/Def/Res-7 and Panic penalties onto foes. |
Might: 14 Range: 2 Enables 【Canto (Recall)】. Grants Atk+3. If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res, grants Atk/Spd+6 to unit during combat, and deals damage = total of the greater between unit's current bonus or foe's current penalty to Atk/Spd/Def/Res. (Calculates each value independently. Excluding area-of-effect Specials.) Effect: 【Dagger 7】 【Canto (Recall)】 After an attack, Assist skill, or structure destruction, unit can return to the space they moved from. (Once per turn. Cannot attack or assist. After moving, if a skill that grants another action would be triggered (like with Galeforce), Canto will trigger after the granted action. Unit's base movement has no effect on movement granted. Granted movement treated as Warp movement.) |
Cooldown Count = 4 When Special triggers, treats foe's Def/Res as if reduced by 75% during combat. Disables non-Special skills that "reduce damage by X%". |
At start of combat, if foe's HP=100% or if【Penalty】is active on foe, grants Atk/Spd+7 to unit during combat. At start of combat, if foe's HP=100% and【Penalty】is active on foe, grants an additional Atk/Spd+2 to unit during combat. 【Penalty】 All effects that last "on foe through its next action." Includes penalties inflicted by a skill like Panic or Threaten and negative status effects (preventing counterattacks, restricting movement, or the effects of a skill like Triangle Adept or Guard). |
At start of turn, inflicts Def/Res-6 on foe on the enemy team with the highest Def+Res total and foes within 2 spaces of that foe through their next actions. |
If in combat against a colorless foe, disables skills of all foes, excluding foe in combat, and inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-4 on foe during combat. During combat, disables skills of all colorless foes, excluding foe in combat. |
Duo Skill |
---|
Unit can move 1 extra space. (That turn only. Does not stack.) If any foes are in cardinal directions of unit or 【Penalty】 is active on any foes, inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-7 and 【Panic】 on those foes. (Duo Skills can be used once per map by tapping the Duo button. Duo Skills cannot be used by units deployed using Pair Up.) |
Duel |
---|
If unit is 5★ and level 40 and unit's stats total less than 195, treats unit's stats as 195 in modes like Arena. (Higher-scoring opponents will appear. Stat total calculation excludes any values added by merges and skills.) |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (16) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Atk (7) | ★★★★☆ | |
Spd (13) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (3) | ★☆☆☆☆ | |
Res (8) | ★★★☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Thief Nina are +Spd and -Def. Her Spd is a superboon and boosts her already very high Spd stat even further to guarantee she outspeeds her foes.
Her Def is a dump stat and is a safe bane to take without altering any of her matchups.
We recommend +Spd when merging Thief Nina to +10 for similar reasons above.
+Atk can also be used to boost her damage further if Spd isn't a concern.

This is a budget build simply replacing Nina's B skill with Wings of Mercy. This allows her to attack from any distance and retreat to her initial position with Canto (Recall). A beacon ally with recoil skills is preferred for this build to be used to its highest potential.

Thief Nina is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Thief Nina's Shadowy Quill is an amazing offensive weapon. It has multiple effects that all skew combat in Nina's favor.
Below is a summary of those effects:
Condition(s) | Effect |
---|---|
Always | Grants Atk+3. |
Thief Nina initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally | Calculates damage using the lower of her foe's Def or Res. |
Thief Nina initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally | Grants Atk/Spd+6 to Thief Nina during combat. |
Thief Nina initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally | Thief Nina's attacks deal bonus true damage equal to the total of the greater between Thief Nina's current bonuses or her foe's current penalties to Atk/Spd/Def/Res. |
After Thief Nina's combat | Inflicts Def/Res-7 on Thief Nina's target foe and foes within 2 spaces of target through their next actions. |
After Thief Nina's first combat, Assist skill, or structure destruction | Triggers 【Canto (Recall)】. |
【Canto (Recall)】 is a unique Canto effect to Thief Nina as of August 2022. It's a very simple, but powerful effect which allows Thief Nina to return to her initial position before her attack, Assist, or structure destruction.
This makes Thief Nina an amazing initiator unit that can defeat a foe and immediately retreat to safety.
This effect also stacks with effects that grant additional movement such as Legendary Sigurd's Holy-Knight Aura, or Thief Nina's own Duo Skill!
Thief Nina's Duo Skill grants her +1 movement on the turn it is activated.
It also applies Atk/Spd/Def/Res-7 and 【Panic】 on any foes are in cardinal directions of Thief Nina and all foes with a【Penalty】 applied to them.
This Duo Skill synergizes very well with her Shadowy Quill, allowing for further range in attacking and retreating with Canto (Recall) and granting extra damage due to the penalties inflicted upon her foes.
Thief Nina takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him/her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Thief Nina comes with Lethality, Atk/Spd Catch 4, Chill Def/Res 3, and C Feud 3 as great inheritance options.
Lethality and Atk/Spd Catch 4 are amazing offensive skills that are very useful for most units.
Chill Def/Res 3 is the game's first tier 4 B skill that scores as a 300 SP skill in Arena. The score ceiling is inflated with the introduction of this skill, and competitive players will want this skill if they want to aim for the highest ranks.
