What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Green Legendary hero in Water season to combat common meta units L!Chrom and L!Dimitri ・Has built-in Null Follow-Up on Professorial Text ・Can provide Null Follow-Up effect to nearby allies ・Sublime Heaven is a quick special that negates damage reduction and can deal with dragon and beast opponents such as F!Edelgard |
Might: 14 Range: 2 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 during combat, and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd during combat, neturalizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks. Allies within 2 spaces gain: "If unit's Spd > foe's Spd during combat, neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks." |
Cooldown Count = 2 Boosts damage by 25% of unit's Atk. If in combat against a dragon foe or beast foe, boosts damage by 50% instead of 25%. Disables non-Special skills that "reduce damage by X%". |
At start of combat, if unit's HP = 100% or if 【Bonus】 is active on unit, grants Atk/Def+7 to unit during combat. At start of combat, if unit's HP = 100% and 【Bonus】 is active on unit, grants an additional Atk/Def+2 to unit during combat. |
Inflicts Atk/Res-3 on foe and neutralizes foe’s bonuses to Atk/Res (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat. |
At start of turn, if Special cooldown count is at its maximum value, grants Special cooldown count-1. |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (18) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Atk (9) | ★★★★☆ | |
Spd (11) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (3) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Res (8) | ★★☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Legendary Byleth (M) are +Spd and -Res.
A +Spd IV adds to his best asset, his high Spd stat, and it almost guarantees that the effects of his weapon is active.
His Res is already on the low side, so it would be safe to take it as a bane. You can also settle with -HP.
We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Legendary Byleth (M) to 10. This is for the same reasons above.

This build abuses the built-in Null Follow-Up effect on Byleth's Professorial Text together with Windsweep to attack twice without fear of retaliation from melee units. Atk/Spd Solo on both his A and seal ensure that he wins the Windsweep speed check. Time's Pulse allows Byleth to activate Sublime Heaven in one round of combat, assuming he doubles the opponent.

This is a similar build to the recommended above, but geared towards Arena for maximum scoring.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Legendary Byleth (M) is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

As a Legendary Hero, you will gain a Water Blessing when summoning L!Byleth (M). Additionally, being a Water type Legendary Hero means that during Water Seasons, other allies with a Water Blessing will receive HP+3 when they appear in battle with L!Byleth (M), and Legendary Byleth's total stats will be treated as 190. This will lead to a higher Arena Score.
Professorial Text accelerates Byleth's special cooldown and provides buffs to all of Byleth's stats.
Upon winning a Spd check, Professorial Text:
Professorial Text also provides the above effects to nearby allies, assuming those allies also win a Spd check of their own.
Sublime Heaven is a 2 charge special that increases Byleth's damage by 25% of his attack, and 50% if Byleth is facing a dragon or beast foe. In addition to that, it negates foe's non-Special skills that reduce damage such as Spurn 3 or Fallen Edelgard's Armored Wall.
In conjunction with Professorial Text and Time's Pulse 3, Sublime Heaven will always be active at the start of every player phase.
Atk/Def Ideal 4's bonuses seen above on top of other buffs.
Atk/Def Ideal 4 gives Byleth Atk/Def+7 if his HP is 100% or if he has a bonus on him (with an additional Atk/Def+2 if both conditions are met, for a total of +9 Atk/Def). This boost helps Byleth fight common Water Season opponents such as Legendary Chrom and Legendary Dimitri, which deal physical damage.
Legendary Chrom and Legendary Dimitri are common opponents in Arena during Water Season due to their immense prowess. Being a Green Legendary hero himself, Byleth is well equipped to combat the two most common Legendary hero threats in Arena.
Byleth needs to win a Spd check to activate the most important part of his weapon - the Null Follow-Up effect. With common meta units having high speed, Byleth needs to be invested well enough to ensure he wins the Spd check every time.
Legendary Byleth's Def and Res are on the low side and this makes it easy for melee units to take him out.
Be mindful of his positioning in relation to these types of units as even if his Spd is higher, units with very high or have brave weapons can defeat him.
Ninja Zihark | Reginn | Mirabilis | Legendary Dimitri |
Plegian Katarina | Peony | Ninja Hana | New Year Peony |
Due to Legendary Byleth's weapon, units with high Spd are must-haves as teammates, as they can take advantage of the Null Follow-Up 3 effect.
Ayra | Valentian Palla | Reginn | Karla |
Ursula | Petrine | Legendary Leif | Ninja Lyn |
Because of his low defenses, Legendary Byleth is an easy target for strong player phase units. This includes units with brave weapons as they can attack twice and potentially one-shot him.
Take care and be mindful of the danger zone of these units!

The following skills have good inheritance value:
We do not recommend fodderring off Legendary Byleth (M)! But the skills listed above have inheritance value. Take note that Lull Atk/Res 3 is becoming more and more common so you may want to look at the other two skills instead. As of July 2021, Atk/Def Ideal 4 is currently rarer than Time's Pulse 3.
Legendary Byleth (M) is a limited time Hero who can be pulled from a Legendary Hero Summoning event. They do not appear in regular summons.
Note: Not currently a featured hero in any Summon events.
