What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Green Legendary hero in Water season ・Has built-in Null Follow-Up on Professorial Text ・Can provide Null Follow-Up effect to nearby allies ・Sublime Heaven II is a quick special that negates damage reduction and can deal with dragon and beast opponents |
Might: 14 Range: 2 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 during combat, and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd during combat, neturalizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks. Allies within 2 spaces gain: "If unit's Spd > foe's Spd during combat, neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks." |
Cooldown Count = 2 At start of turn, if unit's Special cooldown count is at its maximum value, grants Special cooldown count-1 to unit. Boosts Special damage by 30% of unit's Atk. If in combat against a dragon foe or beast foe, boosts Special damage by 60% instead of 30%. When Special triggers, neutralizes "reduces damage by X%" effects from non-Special skills. |
At start of combat, if unit's HP = 100% or if 【Bonus】 is active on unit, grants Atk/Def+7 to unit during combat. At start of combat, if unit's HP = 100% and 【Bonus】 is active on unit, grants an additional Atk/Def+2 to unit during combat. |
Inflicts Atk/Res-3 on foe and neutralizes foe’s bonuses to Atk/Res (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat. |
At start of turn, if unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd+6 and the following status to unit for 1 turn: "Unit can move to a space adjacent to any ally within 2 spaces." If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd+3 to unit during combat. |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (18) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Atk (9) | ★★★★☆ | |
Spd (11) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (3) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Res (8) | ★★☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Legendary Byleth (M) are +Spd and -Res.
A +Spd IV adds to his best asset, his high Spd stat, and it almost guarantees that the effects of his weapon is active.
His Res is already on the low side, so it would be safe to take it as a bane. You can also settle with -HP.
We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Legendary Byleth (M) to 10. This is for the same reasons above.

This build stacks Atk and Spd to allow Byleth to deal as much damage as possible. Lull Spd/Res softens up his foes even further and neutralizes their bonuses.

This is a budget build using skills available from Divine Codes and easily summonable heroes. Watersweep prevents mages and dragons from counterattacking, allowing Byleth to easily dispose of them.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |

SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 2 HP: Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If unit initiates combat or if there is an ally within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit and deals +7 damage during combat (except when dealing damage with area-of-effect Specials), and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd, neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks during combat. For allies within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit, grants Atk/Spd+5 to those allies during their combat, and also, if those allies' Spd > foe's Spd, neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent those allies' follow-up attacks during their combat. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 to unit, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd/Def/Res = number of allies within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit, neutralizes unit's penalties to Atk/Spd, neutralizes effects that grant "Special cooldown charge +X" to foe or inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit, and reduces damage from foe's first attack by 30% during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes). Neutralizes penalties to Atk/Spd on allies within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit during their combat. :500 :200 |
|
Refined Professorial Text grants Atk/Spd+4, Def/Res+9 to Byleth in-combat, bonus stats to his allies within 3 rows and 3 columns, bonus true damage, a Tempo effect, and 30% damage reduction on foe's first attack.
Additionally, it grants both Byleth and his allies within 3 rows and 3 columns Atk/Spd+5, Spd-based Null Follow-Up, and Atk/Spd debuff neutralization.
This refine aids both Byleth and his allies, improving both his combat and his support.

Legendary Byleth (M) is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

As a Legendary Hero, you will gain a Water Blessing when summoning L!Byleth (M). Additionally, being a Water type Legendary Hero means that during Water Seasons, other allies with a Water Blessing will receive HP+3 when they appear in battle with L!Byleth (M), and Legendary Byleth's total stats will be treated as 190. This will lead to a higher Arena Score.
Professorial Text accelerates Byleth's special cooldown and provides buffs to all of Byleth's stats.
Upon winning a Spd check, Professorial Text:
Professorial Text also provides the above effects to nearby allies, assuming those allies also win a Spd check of their own.
When refined, Professorial Text grants Atk/Spd+4, Def/Res+9 to Byleth in-combat, bonus stats to his allies within 3 rows and 3 columns, bonus true damage, a Tempo effect, and 30% damage reduction on foe's first attack.
Additionally, it grants both Byleth and his allies within 3 rows and 3 columns Atk/Spd+5, Spd-based Null Follow-Up, and Atk/Spd debuff neutralization.
This refine aids both Byleth and his allies, improving both his combat and his support.
Sublime Heaven II is an upgraded version of Byleth's original exclusive Special, Sublime Heaven. This improved Special has built-in Time's Pulse 3, boosts damage by 30% of his Atk (60% against dragons and beasts), and neutralizes non-Special damage reduction effects whenever it triggers.
This Special skill only has 2 cooldown, lowered to 1 when equipping Professorial Text. With the Time's Pulse 3 effect, Byleth will have this Special ready every turn!
Byleth needs to win a Spd check to activate the most important part of his weapon - the Null Follow-Up effect. With common meta units having high speed, Byleth needs to be invested well enough to ensure he wins the Spd check every time.
Legendary Byleth's Def and Res are on the low side and this makes it easy for melee units to take him out.
Be mindful of his positioning in relation to these types of units as even if his Spd is higher, units with very high or have brave weapons can defeat him.

We do not recommend fodderring off Legendary Byleth (M)! But the skills listed above have inheritance value. Take note that Lull Atk/Res 3 is becoming more and more common so you may want to look at the other two skills instead. As of July 2021, Atk/Def Ideal 4 is currently rarer than Time's Pulse 3.
Legendary Byleth (M) is a limited time Hero who can be pulled from a Legendary Hero Summoning event. They do not appear in regular summons.
