Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Ethlyn will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

Base Stats

We recommend base stats for your Ethlyn. She has a lot of weak stats so the bane would not be worth the boon in most situations. Though a +Spd IV will definitely increase her viability, it would not be worth the Trait Fruits if she is not one of your main units.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Ethlyn to 10. As mentioned, this is the best IV you can take for Ethlyn. Though it will definitely help her score more follow-up attacks, the main reason is for her to take less hostile follow-up attacks. This increases her survivaibility and by extension, your team's survivability because she will be able to dish out more heals! She will reach great levels of Spd when combined with her native A skill, Spd/Def Bond 3.

How to Use, Explanation

This build utilizes the Dazzling refine of Pain+. Paired with Wrathful Staff, this makes her a powerful offensive unit that opponents cannot counterattack. Double Savage Blow also helps with her damage as it chips the enemy units' health down after combat.

Ethlyn is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Ethlyn Strengths

Great team-wide healer

In addition to Physic+ being one of the most straightforward and easy to use heal skills, Ethlyn also possesses Heavenly Light which heals all allies upon activation and Live to Serve 3 that heals herself whenever she uses Physic+. For maximum team-wide sustain, make sure to have Ethlyn heal a unit to keep Heavenly Light online most of the time. If not, use Fear+ to inhibit the enemy.

This makes Ethlyn's base kit countersynergistic to units that make use of skills like Desperation 3. Be mindful of your teams overall synergy for maximum success in battles!

AoE Atk debuff

Fear+ inflicts -7 Atk on target unit and all other foes within 2 spaces of said unit. This lowers the enemy's damage output. This in turn directly improves Ethlyn and her team's ability to survive blows from enemy units.

Def/Spd are buffed if adjacent to an ally

Spd/Def Bond 3 will grant Ethlyn Spd/Def +5 during combat if she is adjacent to an ally. Since this buff is only active during combat, it will not become the target of a foe's skill such as Panic Ploy.

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons

Ethlyn takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
