When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Legault are +Atk and -Def. Legault is unit with a niche weapon designed to hit powerful units that are stacked with buffs. Legault would be a unlikely to score a follow-up attack on these units so taking a +Atk would improve his performance against these units more than Spd. Both of his defensive stats are of less importance, but to prevent him from getting taken out by magic users in one shot, a -Def would be favorable for him. This also balances his defenses which is ideal when it comes to survivability.

As of 2021, Legault still does not have a prf. weapon. Unless you plan to run him with another dagger, The Cleaner+ is his only choice. This is a simple Desperation setup that uses Fury 4 as a mechanism to bring him down to the HP range. Taking a Def Tactic 3 Seal improves his support ability. Never rely on Legault as you primary offensive option when running this build!

This build aims to activate Lethality quickly by receiving accelerated Special charges with Flashing Blade. Steady Impact is used because we rely on Lethality for KO power and the added survivability helps more than the extra damage Sturdy Impact would provide.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 2 HP: Grants bonus to unit's Atk = total bonuses on foe during combat. At start of combat, if foe's HP ≥ 75% or 【Bonus】 is active on foe, grants Atk/Spd+5 to unit during combat. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd+5 to unit during combat, and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd, reduces damage from attacks during combat and from area-of-effect Specials (excluding Rokkr area-of-effect Specials) by percentage = difference between stats x3 (max 30%), and unit deals +5 damage. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) :500 :200 |
|
Hurricane Dagger's special refine grants Legault Atk/Spd+5 during combat, Spd-based damage reduction, and +5 damage. This allows Legault to hit harder and improve his overall bulk and survival.
This refine option is clearly stronger than the other stat refine options, and is the refine of choice for Hurricane Dagger.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Legault is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Legault's weapon, 'The Cleaner+', adds the total bonuses on Legault's foe to his damage. This is a pretty niche effect but it allows Legault to pack a punch against specific enemy compositions that focus on buffs. It also possesses the standard effect of dagger weapons which inflicts debuffs after Legault exits combat. In this weapons' case, it inflicts -7 Def/Res on the foe and all enemies within 2 spaces of said foe.
For example, a line-up that is running both Legendary Roy and Legendary Azura will be subject to the wrath of The Cleaner's effects as those two pack a lot of bonuses.
Atk Tactic 3 grants +6 Atk to allies within 2 spaces if the number of the ally's movement type in the team is ≤ 2. This makes Legault a good unit in mixed teams. such as the example above that features 2 flying units and 2 infantry units.
Legault's Def and Res sit at only 24 and 19 respectively. This makes him extremely fragile. Although his Spd is at a decent base 38, he should still look out for units possessing Brave weapons as those can score two hits on him regardless of Spd.

Hi there, {Summoner}. You did well today. I did...well enough, I suppose. You might guess it by looking at me, but I don’t scare easily. Coming here did put me on edge, though… I wondered what bunch of scoundrels might summon somebody like me to fight for them. Now, though... We’ve been through it all. I’ve come to realize you’re not up to no good. In fact, you have an aura of downright goodness. It reminds me of old times… Keep to your path, and keep moving forward. I’d hate to see something like this fall to pieces again. |
