Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (16) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Atk (9) | ★★★★☆ | |
Spd (8) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (5) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Res (7) | ★★☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Mikoto are +Spd and -Res. Improving her Spd means that she can both avoid follow-up atacks and score follow-up attacks of her own easily. Balanced defenses is ideal for survivability so taking a bane in Res is ideal. However, she be a decent magic tank especially if she is in Brazen range so get rid of the bane as much as possible by merging!

This build uses Mikoto as a support unit that can function from far ranges. Canto Control granted by refining her Doting Staff prevents foes from retreating with Canto effects, while Sudden Panic forces her foes to be wary with their positioning in order to avoid getting debuffed. Infantry Pulse lowers the Special cooldown of her infantry allies; you may replace this skill with another supportive skill if you wish.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 2 HP: Foe cannot counterattack. If unit initiates combat, grants Atk/Spd+4 to unit during combat. After combat, if unit attacked, inflicts status on target and foes within 2 spaces of target preventing counterattacks through their next actions. If foe within 4 spaces of this unit triggers Canto, inflicts 【Canto Control】 on that foe. 【Canto Control】 Limits the number of spaces target can move with Canto through their next action. If target's Range = 1, target can move 1 space when Canto triggers. If target's Range = 2, target's action ends when Canto triggers. :500 :200 |

Mikoto's new unique weapon Doting Staff only has one refine option, and it's a potentially gamebreaking one.
Flash+ is already one of the best staves in the game, and Doting Staff is an improved version which also grants Atk/Spd+4 during combat.
The special effect refine further improves the weapon by applying 【Canto Control】 to nearby foes that trigger Canto. This effect is not present anywhere else (as of March 2022) and severely neuters units that rely heavily on Canto for their survival such as Reginn and Yuri.
Canto is a very common effect in the metagame; fielding a counter to it will greatly increase your chances of winning.
Use Doting Staff's special effect refine. You won't regret it.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Mikoto is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Mikoto's new unique weapon Doting Staff is an improved version of Flash+ that increases Mt and buffs Atk/Spd during combat.
Additionally, when refined, this weapon greatly neuters Canto effects by restricting their post-combat movement.
Flash+ disables counterattacks through the next action on target unit and all other foes within 2 spaces of said unit. This lowers the enemy's damage output. This in turn directly improves Mikoto and her team's ability to survive the next turn. This makes Mikoto a great check to powerful counterattacking enemy phase units such as Legendary Tiki (Young) and Idunn
Mikoto's decently high Spd and Brazen-boosted Res are comparable to that of a standard magic unit. Therefore, you can use his Res to situate her as somewhat of a magic wall, and then restore a ton of HP to allies after her HP has decreased. This is a particular strength of Mikoto not available to many other staff units.
Mikoto's A skill Brazen Atk/Res 3 will give her Atk/Res+7 in combat when her HP gets below 80%. This wil make it easier for her to damage enemies and further increase her high Res stat, allowing her to safely combat magic attackers.
Mikoto's C skill Infantry Rush 3 will give all infantry allies within two spaces the effect of Heavy Sword 3. In an all infantry team, this is a powerful skill for allowing all allies' specials to trigger.
Mikoto's Spd at Lv. 40 is 32. That is certainly not bad, but it would be better if you invest some resources onto Mikoto to improve it. We recommend inherting skills like Atk/Spd Bond 3 or Speed +3 onto Mikoto to improve her Spd.

Am I dreaming? Or is my existence itself a dream? I have the sense that I fell before I was able to accomplish everything I had hoped… But here, I am able to see how all of my children have grown. It was your power that brought me here, {Summoner}. You and young Azura’s voice. Even if I cannot stay...I am grateful to the both of you. You have shown me the continuation of my dream. For my part, I can help by tending to you and to Azura. I can only hope that if I nurture you, you can both move forward. And as long as this dream continues... I will be right here beside you. |
