When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
+Spd/-Res
The best IVs for Kaden are +Spd and -Res. A higher Spd stat allows Kaden to get a ton of follow-up attacks on his foes. It also protects him from hostile follow-up attacks. His Res and HP are of less importance, but since HP is a superbane, you should go for a -Res IV instead. No banes are good, though! Make sure to get at least 1 merge to eliminate Kaden's bane.
+Spd for a +10 Merge
We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Kaden to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. With this IV, Kaden reaches 43 Spd at max merges. This is a fair range and with some support, he can nail follow-up attacks on a wide range of units. If you prefer using allied buffs to increase his Spd, you can go for a +Atk IV instead.

How to Use, Explanation
This makes use of the reputable Kitsune Fang by giving visible bonuses through the B and C slots. Of course you can mix and match variants of these skills to get the skills that you want. Pavise and Bracing Stance 3 are there to protect him. Drive Spd 2 is in the Seal slot to give more in-combat bonuses, but you can replace that skill too with what ever Seal you prefer!

Refined Kitsune Fang adds additional bonuses for nearby allies and applies Guard to opponent's attacks.
This refine further strengthens Kaden's support capabilities and is a better option than any of his other refines.

Kaden Roles, Strengths, and Weaknesses
Kaden Roles
Kaden is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Kaden Strengths
Provides huge buffs to the team!
Kitsune Fang grants allies within 2 spaces of Kaden all the bonuses he has to his Atk/Spd/Def/Res. For example, he receives the Spd/Res buff from Spd/Res Link 3, he grants this back to all allies within 2 spaces of him! Since Link skills affect both the recepient of the movement-assist and the provider, Kaden can double the buff to his ally! This is a +12 Spd/Res buff if Kaden is still within 2 spaces of the ally. It is a massive buff so make sure to take advantage of it as it is Kaden's main gimmick.
It goes well with Eirika's specially refined Sieglinde! In fact, we have a whole article discussing the two weapons' interaction, but it is currently only in Japanese.
Kaden's Synergy with Sieglinde
Reposition Allies and Buff Them Simultaneously!
Spd/Res Link 3 buffs Kaden and any ally who uses a movement-assist skill or receives one from Kaden by +6 Spd/Res. Since Kaden has access to Pivot, he can make use of this skill to reposition an ally while providing them with buffs.
With Kitsune Fang, Kaden can easily provide +12 Spd/Res with this skill as the weapon skill as the two skills' interactions basically doubles Spd/Res Link's bonuses.
Can buff other cavalry allies with Goad Cavalry
His default C skill Goad Cavalary will power up the Atk/Spd of nearby cavalry allies. Since this affects allies within two spaces during combat, it is a very easy to use skill. If you wish to use an all cavalry team, this is a great skill to include on Kaden to ensure his allies pack a little extra power.
Kaden Weaknesses
Cavalry movement restrictions
Because Kaden is considered as a cavalry unit, he cannot pass through some terrain like the common forest terrain. Depending on the map, his movement might be very limited. Be mindful of maps that significantly reduce Kaden's mobility.
However, in maps where terrain is limited, Kaden will be one of the most mobile units around!
Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons
Kaden takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
