Flying Nino Best IVs

Recommended IVs

Stat Superboon/Superbane IV Recommendation
HP (17) HP Superboon ★★☆☆☆
Atk (21) No Attack IV ★★★★☆
Spd (13) No Spd IV ★★★★★
Def (4) Def Bane ★★★☆☆
Res (6) Res Boon ★★☆☆☆

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws

See the IV Checker for All Units Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-Res

The best IVs for Flying Nino are +Spd and -Def. A higher Spd stat helps Nino make more follow-up attacks on her foes. This boosts both her offensive and survivability capabilities. Since her Def is a superbane and she can afford to take a minus in Res, it is best for her to take a bane in Res.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Flying Nino to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. Any upgrade to Giga Excalibur will remove the cap on the additional damage Nino can deal by building Spd so there is no diminishing returns when stacking Spd on her. If you are worried about her Atk levels, get the Special Effect Refine upgrade on her and it will solve any issues she has on the Atk stat.

How to Use, Explanation

The aim of this build is to create a Spd gap between Flying Nino and her opponents to deal more pure damage with Giga Excalibur. It also has some supportive capabilities as well with Spd Smoke 3 and Guidance 3.

Premium - Special Effect Refine Flying Nino

How to Use, Explanation

This build is designed to stack tons of Spd onto Flying Nino. Stacking huge amounts of Spd is very important for her if she is carrying the Special Effect Refine fo Giga Excalibur. Atk/Spd Push 4's self-inflicted damage makes it easier for her to fall into Desperation range and when she is there, she can easily take out lots of foes without taking a hit. If a flier ally is carrying flier buffs, it will improve her performance and also trigger Giga Excalibur's buffs so make sure to pay attention to her positioning.

Might: 14 Range: 2 HP:

Arena Medal:500 Divine Dew:200

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Giga Excalibur

Any upgrade to Giga Excalibur will remove the damage cap it can deal with a high Spd stat. It also removes the requirement of Nino outspeeding the foe in order to deal damage. It will now generate extra damage everytime Nino attacks. This makes it more reliable and less prone to powercreep.

Additionally, with a Special Effect Refine, she can massively boost the Atk/Spd levels of her whole team and everyone can make use of that boost. Specifically, it grants +4 Atk/Spd to Nino if she is within 2 spaces of an allied unit, and the allies will get the same boost too!

Flying Nino is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Flying Nino Strengths

A Valuable Flying Tome Unit

Flying Nino is one of the few flying tome units in the game. Because of this, she is able to fill specific niches effectively. We recommend inheriting Gronnblade+ onto her and build a flying party around her that buffs her offensive power with Hone Fliers.

Great Mobility Skill in Aerobatics 3

Aerobatics 3 allows Flying Nino to move to spaces adjacent to ground units within 2 spaces of her. This makes her a highly mobile unit. Combine this with Spd Smoke 3 and fairly good offensive power, and Flying Nino can make for some match saving plays.

Spd Smoke is a Great Debuff Skill

Flying Nino's C skill, Spd Smoke 3 inflicts -7 Spd to units within 2 spaces of target through their next actions. If you are able to take out the unit that you attacked, the units affected will have a hard time executing follow-up attacks on Nino and her team. It also makes it easy for your allies to swoop in and score follow-up attacks on these affected units. This gives your teams a huge offensive and defensive advantage. Because Nino is a ranged flying unit with Aerobatics 3, she can apply this debuff on enemies rather easily.

Giga Excalibur is very powerful with a Special Effect Refine

An alternative to a Gronnblade+ is the native Giga Excalibur. The weapon allows Nino to deal more damage by stacking Spd. With it, Spd becomes a very valuable stat to her as stacking it will:

  • Make her less susceptible to hostile follow-up attacks.
  • Allow her to deal more damage through follow-up attacks.
  • Allow her to deal more damage through Giga Excalibur's effects.

With a Special Effect Refine, she has the ability to boost the Atk/Spd levels of herself and all of her allies if they are near one another. This will boost the amount of damage Flying Nino's team will deal. It is definitely a great upgrade so you should get it when you can afford it.

Keep in mind that the damage generated by Giga Excalibur is pure and cannot be reduced by the foe's Res stat.

Flying Nino Weaknesses

Weak to bows

As a flying unit, Flying Nino takes 1.5x damage from bows and weapons effective on flying units. Be sure to keep her out of the range of archers, and leave them to other units.

Value of Skills ★★★★☆

Inheriting Aerobatics 3

Flying Nino can be used to inherit the skills Aerobatics 3. However, Flying Nino is one of the very few powerful flying tome users. This means that she can fill specific niches in your teams. Thus, It is better to train and make use of her instead.

You know, you’re really kind. And so is everyone else around here, for that matter.
They’re all so serious about helping others—not just themselves. I can feel their kindness... And their strength.
Sometimes I think that if I had people like these around back then... Maybe my life would have gone differently.
But you can’t change the past, right? I have to focus on what I can do for the future!
And I’ll start by helping the people who are super close to me. So if you’re ever in trouble, come to me!
I’ll be sure to do my very best for you. Got it? Then it’s a promise!
