The best IVs for Ninian are +Spd and -HP. A higher Spd stat allows Ninian to deal with less follow-up attacks from foes, increasing her survivability. She can afford a bane in HP, as it is naturally high, and her Res is a superbane so HP, is her best bet for a bane.

How to Use, Explanation

This set combines the qualities of a support and a combat unit. Think of her as a support in the player phase, and a unit that can take and deal damage back in the enemy phase. If you don't prefer to use Aether, you can replace it with Sol or Noontime. You can also replace Infantry Pulse 3 with something else if you won't use IP3.

How to Use, Explanation

In addition to her refreshing capabilities, this kit allows her to pick off sword units that will be at a great disadvantage to her. She will still be mainly support, but her ability to match up with sword units make her team more flexible.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a support build for Ninian using Lightning Breath+ to counterattack regardless of range. Stacking Swift Stance will increase both her Res and Spd, making her a good enough magic tank, while Wings of Mercy 3 and Cross Spur Atk serve to support her teammates.

Ninian is a close magic attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Ninian Strengths

Excellent Dragon Support

Ninian is the only dragonstone refresher-assist unit so far. Because of this, she is able to fill specific niches in your teams. She also makes a strong candidate for being a support unit in an all-dragon party because of her access to Fortify Dragons.

Buff Adjacent Allies' Def/Res

Light Breath+ grants +4 Def/Res to adjacent allies after Ninian attacks. It is quite hard to utilize because of its range, so you need to strategize properly in order to utilize this skill. This makes Ninian a great unit to pair-up with blade tome users like Tharja and Nino, as the effects of Light Breath+ will increases both their defensive and offensive abilities.

Improves Durability of Dragons

Ninian's C skill, Fortify Dragons grants +6 Def/Res to dragon units at the start of the turn. This means that Ninian can improve dragonstone users' defenses even without the effects of Light Breath+. This makes Ninian a great unit to pair-up with powerful dragonstone counterattackers such as Idunn and Legendary Tiki.

Warp to Allies Using Escape Route

Escape Route 3 allows Ninian to warp to spaces adjacent to any ally. This is perfect for her, since she has low defenses. We recommend warping to allies that Ninian can use Dance on so that they can protect her.

This skill is perfect for modes like Grand Hero Battles where losing a unit means defeat or modes like Arena where losing units means a decreased score.

Ninian Weaknesses

Low Durability

Ninian has low survivability stats. If Ninian is attacked, there is a high possibility that she will be taken out. Always be mindful of Ninian's positioning in relation to the enemies who pose a threat to her in the enemy phase.

Low Offensive Performance

Ninian's offensive power is low, as she is mainly used as a refresher-assist support. If you want to improve her firepower so that she can be a last resort offensive option, a good idea would be to inherit Lightning Breath+ onto her so that she can counterattack ranged units. Triangle Adept is also a good skill for her A slot, which helps her deal with the dragon-effective Falchion users.

Ninian is a versatile character with a refresher-assist skill so, she can technically fit well in every party. However, she shines most when she is able to be with dragon allies that can utilize her Fortify Dragons skill.

Specific Dragonstone Users

Myrrh and Kana (F) have access to Hone Dragons and Goad Dragons respectively. This means that if they are in a team with Ninian, they can buff each other up as they are all dragonstone units. Additionally, Myrrh benefits from Fortify Dragons as her Great Flame depends on her having a high Def stat.

Strongly consider both these units when making an all-dragon team with Ninian. It still has room for 1 more dragonstone unit of your choice, for 4 hero maps of course, who will benefit greatly from the skills of these three dragonstone buffers.

Frail Blade Tome Users

Nino and Tharja can benefit greatly from Light Breath+, as their weapons will allow them to generate offensive buffs using the stats they get from its effects. This means that Ninian can greatly boost the effectiveness of these two units. Ninian can also use dance on them so that they can take out more units in one phase.

Because Ninian has low durability, she can be taken out even by red units. Make sure to never put her in a compromising position as her presence as a refresher-assist unit with buffs is very important for her team.

Characters with Dragon-Effective Weapons such as Falchion

Always be mindful of Ninian's position in relation to enemies with dragon-effective weapons such as Falchion even if they possess the red attribute. However, Ninian can also take them out if she has inherited Triangle Adept 3.

On the other hand, anti-dragon green units like Julia and Deidre are Ninian's worst matchups, as she can not really do anything against them when alone.
