As a story hero obtained by all players in the beginning of the game, Alfonse will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Atk/-Spd

The best IVs for Alfonse are +Atk and -Spd. He specializes in powerful single-hit attacks with his skills and special effect refine so taking a +Atk IV maximizes his offenses. His Spd is of less importance so it can be safely taken as a bane.

However, since he does not have access to merges, you can not eliminate his bane so a base Alfonse can work too as in some situations, the +3 Atk is not worth the +3 Spd.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a low-investment build for Alfonse. Due to his low Spd stat, breaker skills work well in his B slot. Wings of Mercy or Escape Route can also be used here if your goal is to increase his movement. Since Alfonse is often used in Quests & Mission and as an Arena Bonus Hero, this low-cost skillset may be used if that is your only purpose in wanting to build him.

This build is a standard build for Alfonse. We took advantage of his potential of being a good physical damage tank with double Brazen Atk/Def 3. Take his weapon's Def refine to further boost his durability.

This is a build designed to give Alfonse the most points in Arena. R Duel Infantry will improve his scoring, especially as he cannot be merged. The rest of his kit has premium skills to maximize scoring while helping him increase his damage against other units. Take the Def refine of his weapon to further boost his bulk.

Alfonse is a close ranged physical attack phase unit. Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def.
