Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Tobin will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+HP/-Res

The best IVs for Tobin are +HP and -Res. Tobin's weapon, Jubilant Blade, has a very good special refinement effect that relies on him having high HP to trigger. This means, the more HP Tobin has, the easier it is to trigger Jubilant Blade thus justifying a +HP IV. His Res is of less importance so it can be safely taken as a bane. Be wary as this is a superbane.

+HP for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +HP IV when merging Tobin to 10. This is for the same reasons above—making it easy for Tobin to activate Jubilant Blade's special refinement effect. He reaches 53 HP at max merges.

This weapon is a more powerful version of Armorslayer+. With the weapon refinery's effect, Tobin can gain a +4 bonus on all stats when his max HP is greater than the foe's HP by 2. Tobin has a pretty high HP stat of 46, which can be further boosted by Sacred Seals, merges, as well as dragon flowers, making this added effect very easy to make use of.

Tobin is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat. He also has skills that are effective on armored units and can lower a foe's Spd.

Tobin Strengths

Strong against armored foes

With Jubilant Blade (the more powerful version of Armorslayer+), Tobin can deal 1.5x damage to armroed foes. Since he is a red unit, this will give him a strong edge when going into combat against powerful green armored units like Surtr or Legendary Hector.

Can tank physical attacks

With his high HP and Def stats, Tobin is easy to make use of as a defense tank. However, his Spd stat is not so remarkable, so when he tanks attacks, he will often have to eat an enemy follow-up attack. Watch out for the foes' Spd stats, and aim to only tank attacks that he can emerge safely from.

Can inflict a large penalty on foes' Spd

The B Skill Seal Spd 3 will allow Tobin to inflict Spd-7 on a foe after combat. This means Tobin can initiate combat to lower the Spd of a foe and weaken them, then another ally can hop in with two attacks for an easy kill.

Tobin Weaknesses

Hard to use as an attack unit

While he is pretty good at tanking enemy attacks, Tobin's offensive stats leave something to be desired, and he isn't particularly strong against anyone other than armored units. If you intend to use him as a player-phase attacker, he is going to need the help of some extra skills and possibly buffs from his allies.

Obtained as a Reward in Tempest Trials

Tobin is a limited time Hero who can be obtained as a reward for your score in the Tempest Trials. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.
