If you're looking for Colourless Demon Souls in the Demon's Souls Remake for PS5, you'll need to hunt down Primeval Demons first. This guide will show you how to make them spawn and where to find all 5 in each world!
List of Contents
World | Location |
---|---|
1-3: Tower Knight Archstone | Backtrack from the boss room and up the stairs on the left |
2-1: Stonefang Tunnel | Down the elevator next to the first building you enter |
3-2: Fool's Idol Archstone | On a cliffside in the swamp area |
4-2: Adjudicator Archstone | Through the Illusory Door along the cliffside past the Crystal Lizard |
5-2: Leechmonger Archstone | In the deepest area of the swamp |

In the third area of Boletarian Palace, you can find the Primeval Demon on top of a building near the boss arena. It's closer to the fourth Archstone, but the pathway to it includes three Red Eye Knights on top of other enemies so going from the third archstone is the safer option.

The Primeval Demon in Stonefang Tunnel can be found at the bottom of the canyon accessed from the elevator in the first building you enter.

In the Fool's Idol Archstone area of the Tower of Latria, you can find the Primeval Demon down below in the swamp area accessed after the first tower.

You can find the Primeval Demon in the Adjudicator Archstone area of the Shrine of Storms. From the Archstone, take the left-side door in the room with the reaper to the illusory wall and follow the cliffside towards the Crystal Lizard.
4-2: Adjudicator Archstone Story Walkthrough and Map

For the Valley of Defilement's Primeval Demon you'll need to head all the way to the back of the swamp in the Adjudicator Archstone. It can be difficult to traverse the bog so we recommend picking up the Sodden Ring in the Tower of Latria if you're having trouble.
5-2: Leechmonger Archstone Story Walkthrough and Map
Primeval Demons appear when the World Tendency of a world is near Pure Black. Only one can appear per world with the location always set.
Primeval Demons drop Colourless Demon Souls upon their death. Only 10 can be obtained per play cycle so be sure to get as many as you can.
Colourless Demon Soul Effects and How to Get
Colourless Demon Souls can then be used to upgrade unique weapons by Blacksmith Ed. This is the only way to upgrade these weapons and each will require 5 souls total to fully upgrade.
In the PS3 version of the game there was a chance that Primeval Demons wouldn't drop a Colourless Demon Soul. In our experiences so far with the remake, they've dropped every time, but just in case you're worried you should bring equipment that can raise your Luck and Item Discovery.

Killing a Primeval Demon is one method of changing your World Tendency to White. Be sure to complete any desired events that occur during Pure Black World Tendency before killing one.
