Choosing a Weapon

Pick What You Like

In Demon's Souls, there is a wide variety of weapons to choose from, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. We recommend choosing the on you are the most interested in. The strength as well as the movement of each weapon is very important so you should equip one and give it a swing to see if it's right for your playstyle.

Consider its Upgrades

When choosing a weapon you want to use, you should think about which upgrades it has access to. Just upgrading it as you go isn't a huge deal, but there are a variety of different upgrade paths with some only available to certain weapons. Depending on the upgrade, the stats you want to level can change so keep this in mind when upgrading your weapon.

Crescent Falchion and Crushing Battle Axe Recommended for Early Game

If you're having trouble deciding, early on in the game the Crescent Falchion and the Crushing Battle Axe are good choices for Magic and Strength builds. The Crescent Falchion is especially helpful when making your way through Stonefang Tunnel so we recommend picking one up. You can find a Crescent Falchion +1 early on in the Shrine of Storms first area.
