God of War Ragnarok - How to Transmog Gear
To transmog your gear in God of War Ragnarok, players will have to upgrade their gear to its max level. Read on to check how you can transmog your gear and the effects of using transmog.

Upgrade Your Gear to Max Level

GOWR - Upgrades
To be able to transmog any piece of your armor set, you'll have to fully upgrade them first to level 9. Once you do, the game will give you the option to transmog the selected gear with all the ones you've obtained so far in the game.

Obviously, this will cost you a lot of materials and Hacksilver depending on the gear you're trying to level up, so be sure to use an armor set that will last throughout the game.

Transmog in the Armor Menu

As previously mentioned, once you fully upgrade your gear to its maximum level, Transmog will be available as an option in your Armor menu for that gear.

You don't have to be at the shop to be able to Transmog, as you can access this feature anytime by heading to your Armor menu and pressing the Square Button on your controller to bring up the list of armor you can transmog into.

Used For Cosmetic Purposes

Transmog will only function as a way for players to change how their armor looks while retaining the same stats they have for their armor. Using transmog on your armor set will not give you any beneficial buffs or bonuses since it is purely for cosmetics only.

Dark Odyssey Armor is Cosmetic Only

Dark Odyssey Breastplate

One set added with the God of War 20th Anniversary DLC, the Dark Odyssey set, confers no stats or benefits at all despite being a distinct armor set. It is cosmetic-only and should only be used with the Edit Appearance option rather than equipped directly on Kratos.
