Like his son before him, Odin has come to our door. He does not seek vengeance for Baldur, but instead he speaks of peace and inaction. Odin claims that Atreus has been searching for Týr and has requested he halt this endeavor. I am not pleased that he knows more about what my son is doing than I. While I do not approve of what Atreus has done behind my back, I will not abide the gods of this realm coming to my home and dictating our actions. If he does not want us searching for Týr, it is likely that is exactly what we should be doing. I must note that he offered a deal of peace for our inaction. If I did not have better counsel, I would have been tempted to take it. His threat to Freya made this impossible. She may persist as a danger, but to ally against her with her former husband is... unacceptable. |

Battle Strategies |
---|
Try to keep up close
Prepare to dodge when he floats
Find a safe spot from the massive Bifrost
Attack his shield with the right weapon
Watch out for follow up attacks
|
Always try to get up close and personal with Odin during both phases. He will occasionally zoom away from Kratos, but you'll be able to do more damage with melee attacks than ranged attacks.
When Odin starts floating from a distance, prepare to dodge his next attacks as they are likely to be unblockable (red-ringed attacks). Move towards him while dodging so you can immediately perform a combo once he lands.
Odin will eventually split the arena into three platforms during the first phase. If you see him zoom to the center of the arena, he will start casting a spell that will hit one or two of the platforms entirely with Bifrost. Quickly jump onto the safe platform before he finishes the spell.
Sticking close to the center will allow you to move to the safe spot much more quickly.
During the second phase, after the first stun grab, Odin will conjure an elemental shield that must be attacked with the right weapon. Break the shield and Odin can be damaged normally again.
Shield Color | Counter Weapon |

Red | Leviathan Axe |
Blue | Blades of Chaos |
White | Draupnir Spear |
Odin has an attack that summons red orbs that can home to Kratos and inflict Blind. Use ranged attacks to destroy these orbs, but be careful and prepare to parry/dodge as Odin can immediately perform a follow up attack as you are aiming for the orbs.
Odin slams the ground with his scepter and deals Bifrost damage in a small area in front of him. This attack can be blocked and parried.
Odin shoots three Bifrost bolts that converge before hitting Kratos. Odin can use this attack twice in a row so prepare to parry in case there's a follow up attack.
While in midair, Odin creates a Frost beam extending from his scepter and slams it on the ground. This attack is unblockable and during the second phase, Odin can use this three times in a row.
Odin closes in and performs three consecutive scepter strikes. The third attack in the combo is always a yellow ring attack that can only be parried or dodged.
Another yellow ring attack where Odin closes in with a Bifrost charged scepter. If not parried or dodged, Kratos will be knocked back to the edge of the arena and be inflicted with Bifrost.
Once Odin loses 1/3 of his health, he will split the arena into three platforms. You can move from one platform to another by sprinting or by pressing the circle button. This is also an indicator that Odin can now use his massive Bifrost attack.
Odin prepares to unleash massive amounts of Bifrost on up to two platforms. When Odin zooms to the center and starts using this attack, quickly move over to a safe platform to avoid taking heavy Bifrost damage.
Another attack Odin can use while in midair is an unblockable dive that inflicts Bifrost damage. Dodge this attack and it will leave Odin open for combos.
The second phase of the boss fight always starts with Odin using his new Bifrost whip attack. These lashes are unblockable and release Frost waves so be wary of this attack regardless of the distance between you and Odin.
Odin releases a flock of ravens to immobilize Kratos. This attack can be parried but in case you get caught, rapidly tap the circle button to break free.
A double blue ring attack where Odin lashes his Bifrost whip on a wide area around him. Depending on your distance from Odin, it would be safer to just dodge away instead of attempting to interrupt the attack with a Shield Strike.
Odin creates up to five red orbs that will slowly move toward Kratos and inflict Blind. You can destroy these orbs with ranged attacks but be careful as Odin can immediately perform another attack while you're aiming for the orbs.
After the first stun grab, Odin will conjure an elemental shield that can only be destroyed with the right weapon. Pay attention to the shield's color and switch weapons accordingly.
Odin spews fire from his hand and attacks in an arc. He can use this attack up to three times in a row, so keep your shield up until Odin stops.
Odin will only use this attack when he starts using elemental shields. Odin will barrage the arena with a combination of fire, ice, and poison bolts that will also leave elemental pools on the ground. Watch where you're going if this attack just ended to avoid being inflicted with status effects!
