Brok is a Dwarf, a master blacksmith who is partly responsible for the creation of incredible weapons such as Mjolnir – and is thus partly to blame for the genocide of the Jotuns at the hands of Thor when he used the hammer to kill as many giants as he could.
It was due to this that he and his brother – Sindri – would go on to create the Leviathan Axe, a weapon that was intended to be equal in measure to that of Mjolnir in an attempt to absolve themselves of their guilt. The brothers would eventually split apart however, buckling under the weight of their mistakes.
In God of War 2018, Brok and Sindri would each have their own shops that sell their own wares to Kratos and Atreus. Throughout the entire game, the two brothers would serve as the only source of purchaseable goods, something that may possibly be the same in Ragnarok.
Part of Brok's – and Sindri's – past involve making the weapons that would be immortalized in legends when it came to discussions about Thor's massacre of the giants. Trying to make up for their mistakes, the two would forge the Leviathan Axe, handing it to a benevolent Jotun known as the last guardian of Jotunheim known as Laufey.
Laufey, or Faye as she was called, would pass it to her husband Kratos upon her death, leading to the events in God of War 2018 where the axe was used to thoroughly defeat Baldur and helped set off a chain of events that would lead to Ragnarok.
Exactly what Brok's role will be in Ragnarok is still unknown. This is partly due to the fact that Brok (known as Brokkr) has relatively sparse legends told about him in Norse Mythologies outside of his role in creating Mjolnir.
Outside of Brok's possible role as a blacksmith / shopkeeper, it is unknown what help, if any, Brok will be providing Kratos and Atreus throughout the chaos of Ragnarok.
