During your first visit to Sindri's house, you will be able to buy new shields from Brok, but you will only have enough resources to make one at this point.
Choose the shield that fits your playstyle: the Dauntless Shield specializes in parrying, while the Stone Wall Shield specializes in blocking. Performing these actions charge the shields that can be unleashed by double tapping L1.
You can also upgrade your Leviathan Axe using the Frozen Flame from The Huntress. Be sure to visit Brok and Sindri whenever you get a Frozen Flame to increase your Strength!
As you make your way to Nidavellir by boat, you'll notice some areas in the waters are glowing. Row your boat over these spots and interact with it to pick up some resources!
The realm features puzzles that involves geysers and flowing waters. Throwing the Leviathan Axe at them will freeze them and let you pass through or even move other objects in the environment.
You can also find Yggdrasil Dew while traveling by boat which you can grab to permanently increase one of your stats.
Once you unlock Sonic Arrows from Sindri, you can use them to destroy green glowing objects to create a path or solve puzzles.
Sindri will also give you a Compass that displays a bar on the top of the screen. Along the Compass are icons that will lead you to your main objective (gold signs) or Favors (blue signs).
You will also be able to quickly pull up the map by pressing the left side of the touchpad.
Starting at this point, you will encounter puzzles that require you to freeze wooden channels to block flowing water and redirect their flow to the sides.
The Dreki that you just fought will drop a Chaos Flame that you can use to upgrade the Blades of Chaos. Pay the Huldra shop a visit whenever you get one to and upgrade the blades to increase your Runic stat!
Right after the long boat ride inside the mine, just past Sindri's shop, you'll encounter a puzzle involving a hook with a grapple point, two aqueducts, and a lift on the other side. Below you will find the solution for this mine puzzle.
1 | Shoot the Soundstones blocking the flow on the upper aqueduct using a Sonic Arrow. |
---|---|
2 | Throw the Leviathan Axe on the segment right above the lower aqueduct so the water flows through the water wheel. |
3 | Wait for the hook to ascend then grapple across to reach the lift on the other side. |
The Dreki's lightning attacks are unblockable, so when it starts charging, move away from the attack's area of effect. The spots where these unblockable attacks will hit will always be marked with red circles.
