The objective in Gaia's Navel is to obtain the Blue Orb. It is in a treasure chest on basement floor 3, so make sure to get it!
This is a solo-only quest, so you cannot challenge it with a regular party of four. Since you will be taking it on with just the lead character, it is best to have a Hero or Sage Job Class so you can manage both attack and recovery.
However, if your lead character is a leveled-up and well-equipped Warrior or Fighter, you can push through using Herbs to sustain yourself.
If you take the path with fewer stone statues at the fork in the road, you will reach an area where a treasure chest is located. The statues will warn you to turn back as you preceed into basement floor 3, although nothing in particular happens so it is best to ignore them.
